What motivates data visualization professionals?
Data visualization is a fairly extensive field that cannot be mastered without practice. Creativity in data visualization cannot be learned without constant interaction with like-minded individuals. To cultivate creativity, participate in various data visualization projects, read articles and books on visualization, and practice consistently. Don't compare yourself to others; compare yourself today to your past self. Here are some tips for developing creativity: 1. Learn from others 2. Practice regularly and gather feedback; engage in data activities 3. Connect with data community 4. Continuously read and observe what others are doing 5. Teach others

How can you make a scatter plot more legible?
A scatter plot is typically used to explore correlations between two metrics in different segments. The Pearson correlation coefficient is one of the fundamental measures that helps understand the degree of correlation. The issue with the audience is that for most people, the numerical value of the Pearson coefficient doesn't provide much insight. This can be addressed by adding a Chaddock scale to the visualization, which uses words to indicate the type of correlation (e.g., moderate negative). Additionally, interactivity can be incorporated by allowing users to change the granularity and the metrics on the axes. This also aids the audience in analyzing data across different segments and identifying correlations between various metrics.

What are the best ways to validate and verify data for effective data storytelling?
To determine metrics, it's best to start by asking yourself the question: "What does the end user want?" Once you've identified the user's core needs, try to understand which metric most comprehensively describes those needs. After you've come up with the first key metric, consider what other metrics will assist you in describing the task. It's very convenient to develop a metric tree, where the root of the tree (level 0) is the key metric, and the branches of this tree consist of less significant metrics at different levels (level 1, 2, 3, etc). Once your tree is ready, you'll understand how best to arrange metric charts on the dashboard based on their significance.
