Starbucks operations in Singapore is fully licensed to Maxim's Caterers Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong and a leading restaurant operator of multiple brands across Asia. The first Starbucks store opened on 14 December 1996 at Liat Towers, strategically located along the nation's renowned Orchard Road shopping belt. Starbucks coffee houses offer more than the finest coffee sourced from across the globe. Friendly people, great music and a comfortable upbeat meeting place create the famous Starbucks Experience. The layout and atmosphere of Starbucks stores is specifically designed to be cosy and intimate, while at the same time providing people with their own personal space to use as they wish. The combination of sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and chairs, bars and stools, and meeting room tables means that there is something for everyone. Those looking for peace and quiet away from home or the office can relax and linger in a comfortable armchair and escape into a book, whilst those looking for an intimate place to meet friends can huddle on a sofa and chat over a mug of coffee, as they would in their own home.

    The Singapore Coffee National Championships held by Singapore Coffee Association took place at the end of June at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre Halls with four competitions: Singapore National Barista Championship (SNBC) Singapore National Latte Art Championship (SNLAC) Singapore National Brewers Cup (SBRC) Singapore Cup Tasters Competition (SCTC) The various competitions highlight the different aspects in the world of coffee – from hand-brewed, filtered coffee and intricate coffee artistry, to distinguishing taste differences in specialty coffees and mixology. Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s vibrant coffee culture, these prestigious competitions bring coffee enthusiasts, professionals, and industry experts to an internationally recognized platform for professionals to compete, learn and network, while showcasing their skills, creativity, and passion for coffee.    12 of our partners (employees) represented Starbucks Singapore in all three categories - the Barista Championship, Latte Art Championship and Tasters Competition.    We are thrilled to share that our partners swept the podium for the Tasters Competition (the winner will be headed to Switzerland in 2025 to represent Singapore!) while our Latte Art representatives managed to clinch 4th and 5th places.   We are extremely proud of all our partners for their hard work and dedication to their craft. Taking time out of their personal lives to come and practice, after work and after their shifts, our partners and their trainers have truly put their hearts and souls in the preparation leading to the championships.     Congratulations once again to our partners and thank you to all who supported them both physically and virtually!   #StarbucksSingapore #Craft #Courage

    We recently organised our annual Retail Spark! 2024 to further inspire conversations on enhancing inclusivity and sustainability at our malls in ways that are collaborative, consultative and community-based. With over 100 retailers and partners in attendance, the event provided a valuable platform for ideas and experiences to be exchanged, enabling cross-sharing and learning among like-minded stakeholders. Our partners from SG Enable, Starbucks Singapore and STUCK DESIGN also took to the stage to share more about their experiences in implementing inclusive and sustainable designs for the community.     At Starbucks Singapore, we aren't only about our partners (employees), we also strive to be the leading coffee brand. And with that, we want to share our latest Limited-Time Offering (LTO) beans; the Kati-Kati Blend. In East Africa, where this coffee meets the sun, our Kati-Kati Blend (Named after the Swahili term for “Between”) is a tribute to African sunshine and the sourcing of coffee beans from the rift valley between Kenya and Ethiopia.    It’s packaging design is inspired by the East African botanicals, mainly the Ethiopian Rose and Kenyan Oblique Sorrel (flowers found in their respective regions where the beans are sourced).    The Kati-Kati Blend highlights the best of East African coffees. With vibrant tangy notes and layers of spice notes, this blend can be enjoyed hot or iced.     Meetings are important, not only in the corporate world, but also for nurturing connections. Which is why, here at Starbucks, whenever we hold meetings, we make it a point to start with coffee tasting to strengthen and build our strong coffee culture. In the support centre, during our weekly coffee connects (office-wide meeting), each department takes turns in sharing about different types of coffee beans and a brewing method of their choice. At our stores, our Partners hold coffee tasting sessions not only for other Partners, but for customers as well! The Partners invite customers to join the coffee tasting session and impart coffee knowledge over a fresh batch of brewed coffee alongside some food that pairs well with the chosen coffee.     The Starbucks family had an exciting weekend in Hong Kong. Partners from all our markets around the world showcased their skills in our annual Regional Barista Championship Series.  Starbucks Singapore had 2 Partners that took part in the Barista Championships and Latte Art Championships.  Our Partners made us proud as they shared their inspirations for their coffee and art.  We are proud to share that our Partner has clinched the 1st runner-up in the Latte Art Championship! We are extremely proud of both of our Partners for representing the Singapore market in this competition. “It was both exciting and nerve-racking at the same time, but I felt honoured to represent the Singapore market.” ~ Qi Wei, 1st runner-up, Latte Art Championship.   We would also like to congratulate PT. Sari Coffee Indonesia (Starbucks Indonesia) on winning the Latte Art Championship and the Japan market on winning the Barista Championship!  Thank you, Partners, for your #Courage in showing your #Craft! #StarbucksSingapore #Starbucks
