In Parrot OS when I try to write "bash" for example it's written ^[[1;5Dash letter b in terminal displays as ^[[1;5D and this just happens in terminal in any other app it works:

In other apps:
in app

In terminal:
in terminal

I hope from any one to solve this problem it's so weird.

  • What is your platform (Mac, Windows, or Linux) and which terminal application are you using? Sometimes my sessions get messed up and restarting the terminal app fixes janky behavior similar to what you're experiencing.

  • By "in terminal", do you mean a virtual console (e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F3)? or a terminal emulator inside a GUI desktop? If the latter, what terminal emulator is it? Does b work in other terminal emulators? Does B (capital b) work? Commented Jul 6 at 17:01

  • Is it a laptop? Can you check if your numlock is on or off?
