British Ambassador Martin Harris visited "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" The delegation of the Embassy, headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to Ukraine, visited our enterprise and met with the management of the plant. During the meeting of Martin Harris with the top management, such topics as security and recent attacks were discussed, how the company, which is the largest foreign investment in Ukraine, survives and ensures production in wartime conditions, issues of electricity shortage, personnel, competitiveness of the plant. The First Deputy General Director Serhiy Plichko briefed the delegation about the challenges that ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has to face every day and how the team solves them: "We understand how important it is for the city, community and Ukraine that our enterprise works, pays taxes, and provides people with work. That is why, despite the shortage of energy resources and the increase in their prices, blackouts, high prices for raw materials, logistics, constant air alarms, we try to be flexible to the circumstances and at the same time be strong - because all our actions are aimed at helping the state achieve Victory. Now we are the largest mining and metallurgical enterprise of Ukraine, and revenues to budgets of various levels depend on our financial results. In order to ensure our stable work, constructive cooperation with government institutions and the support of the local and foreign community are important" said Serhiy Plichko His Majesty’s Ambassador Martin Harris, together with other members of the delegation, also visited the production sites of the enterprise. He got acquainted with the process of steel production at the Ladle Furnace Continuous Casting and visited the Section rolling shop No. 2 at the place where an enemy missile hit in December 2022. Summing up the visit to ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain noted: “I was delighted to visit the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih with my Embassy colleagues. We met with the steelworks’ management and staff to talk about how they operate in wartime conditions as the city has been regularly attacked by Russian bombs. We were inspired by their steely resilience and dedication to continue to work and contribute to their community and Ukraine’s economy in spite of all difficulties. My message to them and the people of Kryvyi Rih was clear – the UK’s support for Ukraine remains ironclad.”

On June 29, there was a training session on "Mental Survival During Military Intervention" by Nataliia Hryshchenko, a child psychologist, crisis consultant, and winner of the "Psychologist of the Year" contest. Participants received pleasant prizes and unique experiences, and also discovered new ways to take care of their health and well-being 💚

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih calls on the Government to revise the norm regarding the import of at least 80% of electricity. According to the results of electricity import in May-June of this year and the analysis of its impact on the economy of the enterprise, the region and the state, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has joined the position of a number of other energy-intensive enterprises of Ukraine, who previously expressed their concern about the unreasonably inflated requirement of mandatory electricity import. Let us recall that on June 1, the Government decided that the guarantee of unlimited electricity supply will apply only to those enterprises that will import at least 80% of their consumption. This appeal to the Government is caused by the negative consequences for the enterprise, the industry, the region, and budgets of various levels. Considering the highest prices in Europe for electricity in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, from where it is imported, the need to spend additional funds on its transportation and pay customs and excise duties, the price of imported electricity for our enterprise is more than 2 times higher than the price of electricity paid by its competitors in the countries of Western Europe. In such conditions, further production becomes significantly unprofitable and the plant cannot be competitive on the world market of metallurgical products. Hence the company will be forced to significantly reduce production and lay off approximately 1,200 employees. On the scale of the economy of the region and Ukraine, this will undoubtedly lead to the following negative consequences: ∙ reduction of tax payments from personal income tax and social security to UAH 30 million per month; ∙ reduction of fees for subsoil and environmental payments by about 60 million hryvnias per month; ∙ reduction of VAT on the import of raw resources by about UAH 120 million per month; ∙ a decrease in foreign currency receipts by approximately 90 million US dollars or 3.6 billion hryvnias per month due to reduction in the export of finished products. "Such decisions of the Government require thorough calculations and justification, and they necessitate search for a balanced solution for the industry, and consequently, for the economy of the country as a whole" - said the CEO of "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" Mauro Longobardo: "We call on the Government to review the decision and reduce the obligation the national minimum volume of electricity imports to the level of 50% during the year, by making changes to the Resolution of the CMU dated May 30, 2024 No. 611," he added.

🏭PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih announces production results for May 2024 The company has increased production of its main products. The increase in metallurgical products output was due to the restart of blast furnace No. 6 and coke oven batteries No. 3-4 in the second half of April. Compared to April 2024, coke production was increased by 44% (127 kt vs. 88 kt) and hot metal by 40% (247 kt vs. 177 kt). In May 2024, steel production amounted to 208 kt, which is 28% more than the previous month, and rolled products output was increased by 27% up to 193 kt. Production volumes also increased compared to May 2023, with increase in hot metal output by 15%, steel output by 68%, and rolled products by 66%. At the same time, the company has to operate in the face of significant restrictions on electricity supply due to constant attacks on the energy infrastructure of the country. This has an adverse impact on the stability and efficiency of production processes. In particular, Mining Department was forced to reduce production of iron ore concentrate by 15% compared to the previous month ✅

At ArcelorMittal University, from June 3 to June 7, training sessions titled "Effective Communication for Occupational Safety and Hygiene: Tools for Line Managers" were held for 400 foremen and senior shift supervisors 📅 Watch the video to see how the training went: https://lnkd.in/ex7ZDVZQ 👈 This event is extremely important, as communication is a key element of safe work practices. Timely information and adherence to instructions help prevent accidents. The training sessions were organized by the Corporate Communications Department and conducted by an experienced trainer and head of the "Industrial Safety" company, Andrian Halach. The goal was to develop the communication skills of line managers so they can more effectively convey important messages to their teams. As a result, all training participants gained valuable knowledge and skills that will assist them in their daily work.
