About us

AirSmat is start-up working with farmers across Africa to grow more crops sustainably and improve food security while building monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) tools to drive soil carbon sequestration and the transition towards regenerative and climate-preserving agriculture. To tackle challenges of MRV in the carbon market — which are often costly and complex, thus hindering new project development—AirSmat employs a combination of satellite imagery, a vast proprietary soil data library, and sophisticated machine learning algorithms. This approach ensures an accurate, cost-efficient, and scalable MRV solution, enabling stakeholders to measure and report soil carbon levels confidently. A crucial element of our approach to regenerative agriculture and carbon sequestration is the strategic deployment of biochar. Biochar is a stable, carbon-rich form of charcoal applied to soils to improve their fertility and carbon storage capacity. By working with farmers to integrate biochar into their agricultural practices, farmers enhances the soil's ability to retain carbon, thus significantly contributing to climate change mitigation efforts. This method not only sequesters carbon effectively but also improves soil health, leading to increased agricultural productivity and sustainability across farms in Africa.

Captured image dataset is processes by our mapping application to generate a high quality 2D and 3D image of any farmland. 3. Soil testing and analysis has shown farmers can balance the nutrients in their soil and understanding it’s physical properties can boost plant development. We test the soil on your farmland and provide actionable insights regarding nutrients in the soil and proper utilization of fertilizer 4.
