It's time to dive deeper into the unique human strengths that make us truly excel. Did you know? 🔹 A study by the Open University shows that 58% of organisational leaders report a mismatch between young people’s skill levels and employer expectations. 🔹 Another study by Gartner revealed that the number one concern for HR leaders is leadership development approaches that do not prepare leaders for the future of work. Imagine a workplace where everyone plays to their strengths, leading to higher performance and greater job satisfaction! Curious to learn more about identifying and utilising these unique strengths in the workplace? Join us for a FREE workshop next Tuesday, 23 July, hosted by Ariel Adebola (MSc, BSc). 💫 The Magic of a Psychologically Safe Workplace 🏢 At its core, psychological safety means feeling safe to take risks, voicing our thoughts, and making mistakes without the fear of being laughed at, judged, or reprimanded. Think of it like the workplace version of being wrapped in a blanket, but rather than warmth, you get trust and respect. But why should leaders care about this? Put simply, when people feel safe, they’re more likely to share that brilliant idea they've been sitting on or point out that tiny flaw that could save the whole project. Plus, it makes work more enjoyable when you’re not constantly worried about stepping on toes or saying the “wrong” thing. So how do we, as leaders, create this magical environment? Here are a few tips to get you started: 1️⃣ Embrace the “duh” moments. If someone makes a mistake, there’s no need for the facepalm emoji. 🤦♀️ We’ve all been there. Use it as a learning moment. 💡 2️⃣ Encourage “bad” ideas. Sometimes the wildest suggestions lead to the best solutions. Give people the freedom to think outside the box (or even outside the office). 🧠 3️⃣ Showcase your human side by acknowledging contributions and efforts, even if they don’t hit the mark. A little appreciation goes a long way. 🤗 Remember, creating a psychologically safe workplace doesn’t require extraordinary measures – just a commitment to being human and treating others the same way. If you want to learn more about building a psychologically safe workplace, speak to one of our team at Bailey & French . 🤝 Relationships at Work – The Foundation of Performance 🤝 Relationships at work are obviously important, from the CEO and the board to the cleaners and canteen staff. Every one of us needs to be able to cultivate high-quality relationships with the people we work with, to achieve our objectives. This is where our human-centric skills come into play. By removing judgement, sharing our vulnerability, listening, and reflecting, we naturally build human connections. And when leaders role model these attributes it creates a ripple effect, enhancing wellbeing and performance among our teams. It sounds easy, but sometimes leaders don’t do these simple things, whether due to time restrictions or the pressures they’re under. So, to all the leaders and people managers out there, remember: try and be a little more human. Sometimes the smallest gesture, like a smile or a simple “hello, how are you?” can make a huge difference. 😊 Bailey & French #HumanLeadership #HumanStrengths #Leadership #Relationships

🤗 Embracing Inclusive Leadership 🤗 When we feel included at work, we’re more engaged, motivated, and productive – all essential when striving to hit our organisational targets – and leadership plays a critical role in getting us there. According to Harvard Business Review, leadership can account for up to 70% difference in whether someone feels included at work. Creating an environment where people can be their authentic selves leads to higher levels of #wellbeing and #performance. Inclusive leadership moves away from the traditional "command and control" model, instead embracing empathy, collaboration, and a genuine desire to understand and include diverse perspectives. Leaders today need to be deeply human, comfortable with ambiguity, and open to admitting mistakes, which is not always easy. The research highlights six key traits of inclusive leaders: 1. Visible commitment to diversity 👀 2. Humility 😶 3. Awareness of bias ⚖️ 4. Curiosity about others 🤔 5. Cultural intelligence 🧠 6. Effective collaboration 🤝 To dive deeper into how inclusive leadership can transform your workplace and explore actionable insights, check out our blog: https://hubs.ly/Q02GwXlb0 By fostering a culture of respect where every voice is heard and valued, we can create workplaces where everyone thrives. 🌈 #InclusiveLeadership #EmpathyInLeadership #DiversityAndInclusion #LeadershipDevelopment

❓ What Makes a Great Leader? 🤔 Leadership in the workplace goes beyond just managing tasks and overseeing teams. It's about inspiring, motivating, and truly connecting with people. Think back to the best managers you've had. What made them special? Often, it's their ability to make you feel seen, appreciated, and capable of achieving more than you ever thought possible. These leaders leave a lasting impact on us, shaping our careers and personal growth. If you’re looking to bolster your leadership qualities, think about implementing these simple yet powerful strategies: 👂Empathy and understanding: A great leader listens and understands the needs and concerns of the team. They create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. 👀 Vision and direction: They guide their teams towards shared goals while inspiring confidence and trust through clear direction and open dialogue. 🔀 Adaptability: In these times of change, effective leaders are adaptable, open to new ideas, and continuously evolving with their teams. 💪 Empowerment: When we empower our people to take risks and encourage them to take ownership and make decisions, we foster a culture of trust and autonomy. 😀 Positive influence: All great leaders lead by example. They demonstrate integrity, accountability, and positivity in every action. The impact of human-centric leadership is profound. Teams led by such leaders are more engaged, motivated, and productive. They experience higher job satisfaction and are more likely to go above and beyond in their roles. For CEOs, Board members, Directors, HR leaders, and Senior Managers, embracing these qualities can transform your organisation's culture and drive sustained success. 🌟 Embracing Transparency to Foster Human Leadership 🌟 The world we live in today is so interconnected, with the dramatic increase in fake news and AI-generated content, it’s becoming increasingly hard to differentiate between reality and fiction at times. So it’s no wonder our level of trust diminishes, making us more cynical. 🤷♂️ With organisations across the globe facing significant changes and business landscapes ever-evolving, it’s natural for people to feel apprehensive. This highlights the need to maintain (or increase) trust with their people, who after all, are the ones that keep the cogs turning day-to-day. ⚙️ According to Deloitte's 2024 Global Human Capital Trends research, 86% of leaders believe increased transparency enhances workforce trust. However, the connection between transparency and trust is more complex than originally thought. 🤔 Leaders must ensure transparency and clarity in their communications and actions, fostering an environment where transparency is seen as a tool for empowerment. This is crucial when navigating these complexities. Information should be frequent, purposeful, and beneficial to help rebuild and strengthen trust. 🤝 Deloitte's research challenges the assumption that more transparency always leads to greater trust, highlighting potential risks if transparency isn't managed thoughtfully. Leadership in the digital age demands balancing transparency to empower individuals while safeguarding privacy and building trust. This approach mitigates concerns and empowers individuals to embrace change with confidence and clarity, thereby contributing to organisational success. 📈 At Bailey & French we're dedicated to fostering human leadership through strategic, flexible solutions. Our approach integrates cutting-edge insights with empathy, ensuring transparency initiatives enhance rather than hinder organisational culture. 🙌 Explore how transparency can empower your organisation and strengthen trust. Contact us today to learn more about our tailored strategies for embracing human leadership in the digital age: https://hubs.ly/Q02FxW9g0 #HumanLeadership #TrustAndTransparency #HRStrategy #WorkplaceEmpowerment
