Sorted aims to address these challenges with advanced AI technologies, including computer vision, spectroscopy, and coloured lasers. These tools improve the precision and efficiency of material sorting on recycling lines, boosting the performance of human pickers and significantly increasing the recovery rate of valuable materials. A set back for UK Biogas? 💭 Suffolk County Council has been advised to reject a planning application for an anaerobic digestion (AD) facility in Beccles, Suffolk, due to several social and environmental concerns. 🌲 The proposed facility would process up to 100,000 tonnes of food waste per year. ♻ r The application has faced significant opposition from local county councillors, multiple parish councils, East Suffolk council, the Civil Aviation Authority, Suffolk Wildlife Trust, and 137 third-party objections, though it did receive 13 letters of support. Key reasons for the recommended rejection include potential safety risks due to its proximity to Beccles Aerodrome, and its location in open countryside which contradicts local planning policies. 📰 Additional concerns include insufficient data on turbulence, gas venting, flaring, landscape impacts, local water environment, and air quality.
