The Disability Pride flag is a brilliant example of how a picture is worth a thousand words - something we know well in the branding world. Celebrated straight after LGBTQ+ Pride Month, Disability Pride Month happens every July. Its origins lie in a law passed in the US in 1990, called the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), to give people with disabilities the right to be treated fairly and equally. The month-long event is an opportunity to raise awareness of disabilities and to celebrate the diversity of the disabled community. Created by Ann Magill, a writer who has cerebral palsy, in 2019, the colours represent types of disabilities: Red - Physical disabilities Gold - Neurodivergence White - Invisible and undiagnosed disabilities Blue - Mental illnesses Green - Sensory disabilities The grey background commemorates disabled people who've died due to discrimination. The diagonal placement of the stripes is also purposeful. They show how disabled people have to work around the barriers they face in the world. This is a great article from the BBC that gives the lowdown on the month and the story behind the Disability Pride Flag: https://lnkd.in/eRt4F8SA #DisabilityPrideMonth #Disabilities #Equity #Diversity #Inclusion

Brand design. Nothing more than a bit of art, right? If you've ever thought this, these reimaginings of Lemsip, Duracell, M&M's and Evian will make you think twice. The designer Mehmet Gozetlik tests our perceptions by showing us some famous grocery products with a range of variations in the design, going from maximalist to minimalist. He gradually removes images, colours and logos, and keeps just one thing constant: the font. (Helvetica Neu Bold for the font geeks out there🙌). On the one hand, you could argue that stripping out the 'noise' gives consumers a better shopping experience. As Lisa says below, maybe it allows consumers to focus more on the product itself than its packaging. But we'd argue that removing everything that makes these brands unique leaves customers faced with a sea of sameness that makes them work harder. No longer will they see, at a glance, the picture of a mountain that evokes the idea of natural spring water, or the freshness of mountain air. Or the pink battery-powered bunny that famously runs endlessly in the TV advert. Or the golden harp that harks back to history and Irish origins. These brand identities and stories are completely lost in their reimagined states. This is definitely an argument for thinking that the minimalism movement has gone too far. Do you agree? Can you be minimal and still give customers what they want? #BrandDesigns #Branding #BrandCodes #Design #ProductDesign #Brands https://lnkd.in/geS9Qe9X

Identity Lost. In my last post, we delved into the world of minimalism with Mehmet Gozetlik's bold redesigns of Nutella, Nesquik, and Lindt. Today, let's unwrap Gozetlik's latest creative leap—this time featuring iconic brands like Guinness, Evian, M&Ms, and Duracell. In his second edition, he introduces an even purer form of minimalism. The designs now come in four versions: the original design, a simple version, a totally stripped-back look, and a new, daring "no logo" variant where brands speak only in Helvetica Neue Bold. No logos, no emblems—just straightforward text. This approach raises the bar on minimalism. By applying the same font across different products, Gozetlik isn't just simplifying designs—he's creating a universal language for brands. This could be a game-changer in how we perceive products on the shelves. The use of Helvetica Neue Bold offers clarity and uniformity. This font is famously versatile, yet using it as the sole identifier strips brands of their unique visual elements that have stood the test of time. The simplicity brings a cohesive look across various products, potentially simplifying the shopping experience and shifting the focus more to the product itself, perhaps emphasising quality over branding. However, the distinctive brand symbols, like M&M's playful candy characters or Guinness's harp, do more than just decorate—they evoke feelings and stories. In stores where every label speaks in Helvetica, distinguishing between brands could become a memory test for consumers. As minimalism stretches to its limits, we find ourselves at a crossroad. Is this level of uniformity the future of branding, or does it risk turning vibrant marketplaces into sterile, indistinguishable rows of text? As we gaze into this new landscape of brand identity, what are your thoughts? Does the "No Logo" approach signify a bold step forward, or could it lead to a bland world where every brand blends into one? Are you ready for a world dressed not just in minimalism, but in absolute uniformity? Or Do you believe brands should retain their logos and the rich identities they've cultivated over decades? Share your thoughts! #packagingdesign #graphicdesign #design #productdesign #brands 📷Mehmet Gozetlik/Antrepo

What does the future of the hospitality industry look like? Is the reception desk dead? Are we all checking in to hotels on screens? Is the concierge a robot? 🤖 Wonder no more, as the hospitality-focused tech company For-Sight has just updated its industry report to reflect the newest trends. 1️⃣ Green is still top of the agenda. Our passion for all things positive for the planet means that this warms the cockles of our heart. Big name hotel brands have implemented water conservation systems and energy consumption monitoring systems lately. The next step for them will be to communicate these positive changes to their customers. 2️⃣ Direct email is still a top channel for reaching potential customers. For-Sight's advice is to make the most of this by personalising emails to customers. 3️⃣ You need to balance AI with the human touch. There's no denying that CMOs are VERY interested in AI and what it can do for them. But while check-in screens may be welcome, it might not be time to wheel out the robot concierge just yet. To learn more about the trends you need to keep an eye on in the hospitality industry over the next year, check out For-Sight's updated report below. https://lnkd.in/ee5vKZXS #Hospitality #HospitalityTech #HotelTech #B2BSaaS #CRM #AI

We’re wrapping up Pride Month with a big bang in London! We had the privilege of being invited to join the London Pride parade with our client Btomorrow Ventures and BAT again, and have tons of brilliant footage capturing the team's excitement and joy on the day. This year, Bray St. helped BAT to project a cohesive vision with the float truck and obligatory colourful merchandise, with the incredible DJ Envy providing the soundtrack to our memorable day. It was an amazing occasion celebrating inclusivity and the LGBTQ+ community - and we're on a mission to maintain the mood all year round. Check out some of the photos from the day, and stay tuned for more exclusive footage, including interviews with the team! #Pride #PrideMonth #LondonPride #LGBTQ+ #Inclusion #Equality #WeAreEverywhere #BUnited
