New prototype for a manikin for 2024 This guy… is a 3D scan (and lifecast) of a gent who was working with us at Elstree Studios as a contractor. John Schoonraad our creative director and his son Max spotted his great features, and asked him if he fancied being made into a manikin! Our next step - copy the rest of him! The Lifecast Body Simulation Ltd “post covid Pete” will be on show at the sim net conference in Southampton this week. #thisisamanikin Pete was swimming 2 times a day prior to covid, and had incredible definition and muscle mass for a guy in his 80’s Covid forced swimming pools to close, and as a result of forced inactivity ( and getting 3 years older) Pete has lost some muscle mass. On Friday I was lucky enough to spend an hour or 2 with Darren Jones from Bristows discussing Lifecast Body Simulation Ltd projects and how we may support the Bristow Group Normally when I do the tour of Elstree studios I talk about the legacy and our historical links to Star Wars and other Movies. Older people manikins Our older people manikins - Vivien + Pete are still transforming medical education. Next week we will be testing a new version of Pete - it’s an older version! ( Pete is older now 85 years old). Pete was a dedicated swimmer, and up until covid was swimming every day, but as a result of covid in March 2020 -March 2021 ( specifically the closing of swimming pools) Pete lost his muscle mass due to inactivity and this change is evident in his body. The new Pete reflects that change - manufactured in the U.K. at Elstree movie studios - the 2024 Pete is a brilliant teaching tool.
