We're so pleased to see one of our charitable partners, SolarAid, recognised for their amazing work!
We are thrilled to announce that SolarAid has won in the International Aid and Development category at the The Charity Awards 2024! 🍾 ☀️ This recognition is a testament to our ongoing efforts to provide sustainable solar lighting to the poorest households in sub-Saharan Africa. Our project, "Light a Village”, has successfully brought solar light and power to thousands of homes in Malawi, demonstrating that we can fast-track universal energy access. This award acknowledges our commitment to innovative, scalable solutions that can be replicated across other regions in need. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. We remain dedicated to lighting up lives and ensuring sustainable development through access to clean, affordable energy. #CharityAwards2024 #SolarAid #LightAVillage #SustainableDevelopment #CleanEnergy

Meet Patrick Jackson, author and founder of Picker Pals, in our latest #YourOxfordStory! Patrick started working with OUP whilst living in Japan in the 90s and continues to write in our popular ‘Everybody Up’ series. He’s also the founder of Picker Pals, a charity educating children about #sustainability. In this interview, Patrick tells us all about the inspiration behind his very first book characters, and why he had to travel on a bullet train in a potato suit.

The Korean Cultural Centre UK's spring exhibition, ‘26, Your Korean Words’, explores the 26 words of Korean origin that were added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2021. These additions are a result of our ongoing efforts to widen the dictionary’s coverage of different varieties of English spoken worldwide. This was a fascinating exhibition highlighting the work of Oxford Languages | OUP. Well done to everyone involved.
