Peak Talent was founded to focus purely on unearthing talented recruitment leaders and introducing them to like-minded, ambitious and dynamic organisations to drive the growth of recruitment businesses in the UK. We are in a time of change with most organisations rethinking their management structure, culture (WFH/Office) and even their future direction in terms of current and target markets. The need for revenue generating leaders who can develop and grow a team or practice is stronger now than ever before as is the need for strong leaders who can design, execute and communicate business change, plans and strategies. With 22 years recruitment experience (12 as an MD of a global recruitment giant) our founder has interviewed, promoted, hired, managed, developed, coached and mentored leaders at all levels from Team Leaders to Divisional Directors so knows what "great looks like" even in leaders at the beginning of their career ascent. In a word, putting your senior recruitment in our hands is akin to having your own MD conduct it, think of Peak Talent as an extension of your senior leadership team, a talent search led by your own NED. Our experience allows us to dig a little deeper than the rest and ask candidates (and clients) those questions that might be a little tougher to answer that will require a little more thought, but it will ensure we find the best "climbers" to suit your terrain and drive your business towards greater and higher peaks.     In 1998 I used to get on a train every morning from Darwen train station at 7.15am to head into Manchester. 🚂 At 6.15/30pm I went home after doing fierce battle with the contracts Manchester Technology recruitment market every day....🥊 Think Best, Glotel, Intellect, Computer People, Parity and Elan. The season ticket was £140 a month back then and I was out of the house for around 12 hours..😥 I did that until 2007...     Really enjoyed my first meeting at the Blackburn Rovers Football Club Business Club hosted by Yasir S.. 🌹 As a recruiter hearing how Paul Gray and Jordan McCann recruit and develop the team's youth players was fascinating. Much more goes into the development of them as people than I envisaged which is fantastic. As we know only a small number will make the grade but those that don't will have the same mental strength, work ethic and adversity quota to those that do and Rovers know that will stand them in great stead for a life outside football. 🙌 I also heard a talk from Nathan Lewis at Clitheroe Cryo on the work they do with players to help with muscle recovery and injuries using cold recovery via their cryo chambers. In my attempt to shake off a hamstring injury before Seville Marathon in Sunday I thought I'd give it a go... Man alive it was cold....but invigorating. 🥶🧊❄⛄ -124c for 180 seconds. Fingers crossed and thanks guys.

    Business Development..... It's quite polarising, marmite like even but if you love it, you love it... Not marmite (it's horrific).     I've been a little quiet the last week or 2.... Injury has struck... My piriformis started to pinch half way through a half marathon at the end of January and foolishly rather than stop I eased off and finished the run. Even more foolishly I ran 10 miles the day after and it compounded it further 🤕 As a result I've ran less than 8 miles in the last 2 weeks and walking hurts currently. 😢 Seville Marathon is a week on Sunday... Hundreds and hundreds of miles of training (including a marathon on NYE) looking to have gone up in smoke🔥 BUT experience has taught me (in everything I do) not to give up until it's impossible. I've had keyhole surgery on my left knee twice (cartilage and ACL), a hernia operation, operation on my nose to help my breathing, broken ribs, thumbs (both) and various other bumps and scrapes. I have a physio appointment this morning and one next week before I fly to try to get me to the start line 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I won't get the time I want but I will start (and finish) marathon 27.... Time for a strong coffee and hit the business development talent in the North West Sorry I meant peppermint tea. 😂

    I didn't do Dry January.....sorry (well I'm not actually)... I don't drink in the week and enjoy the odd one at a weekend and saw no point making the worst month of the year even worse...🍻 However I do have huge respect for those that did as giving up anything is tough as I have recently found out....🙌 With that in mind my addiction (apart from running) is coffee ☕ In Dec 22 I was having some gastro issues and had "the camera" inspection which was a treat and found out I have mild gastritis which is inflammation of the stomach lining. The warnings signs were some bleeding hence their concern that it might be something more sinister (thankfully it wasn't) It can be caused by a few things but caffeine is high on the list, having tried various pump inhibitors (Omeprazole etc) it was getting worse and seeing me "dry wretch" when I was running longer distances, which when your pacing a marathon isn't a great look nor does it inspire confidence from your group 👀🤣 So I decided to go cold turkey on the coffee ☕☕☕☕☕☕ (I didn't slip that's roughly how many cups I'd have before lunch most week days) I have never been a heroin addict but I have seen Train Spotting and can now sympathise 😂 Typically I am injured at the moment and haven't managed to run properly for a week but I am 2 weeks into mint tea as a replacement and parking the horrific headaches in Week 1 I do feel way better and I can't wait to see if my stomach has reaped the benefits 🙏🏼 So again well done if you did do Dry January and if you are seeing the benefits and maybe you were hitting it a little too hard then hopefully you can redress that balance...⚖ Mild Sermon on classic recruiter demons over...

    I love a plan.... Even a marathon plan but I've hit a speedbump. 🛑 Felt a tightening in my piriformis last week and foolishly ran Inskip Half Marathon at the weekend and ended up in "Limp Home Mode", literally.... Current sitting on a small hot water bottle and have an appointment booked for acupuncture. 😢 📍 4 weeks to Seville Marathon so I'm hoping it works!!!. Few days rest I think..... I might be grumpy (apologies) but I have even more time to chase down candidates for four fantastic roles I'm currently looking at. List to follow!! #fortheclimbers #peaktalent

    When I do arrive I have some interviews to arrange as I look to add to the team at Cummins Mellor Keen to talk to the following: 🌱 Raw sales talent looking to start a career in recruitment 🔁 Experienced recruiters looking at a sector change. 🔥 Experienced recruiters from an Accounting and Finance, Commercial/Business Support or Engineering/manufacturing background to build a desk then a team.     Business Development roles within the recruitment world can be tough to fill...😢 Similar to looking for high performing, experienced 360 billers....tough to tempt them away...🔗 However this Business Development Role is a little different....🤔 🏔 Neutral vend solution with support services wrap around. 🏔 A strong brand in the recruitment support services sphere. 🏔 This solution will genuinely solve problems (versus pure vacancy and revenue generation) so an easier sell. 🏔 Access to a lead generation team and telesales executive. 🏔 Working directly alongside the Sales Director. This role would be perfect for: ✔ An experienced 360 recruiter who wants to move away from candidate work. ✔ Someone who has sold recruitment support services (screening, umbrella solutions, recruitment advertising etc). ✔ An experienced telesales exec (in the fields above) who wants to step up into full solution sales.     For the past three and a half years I have been sourcing Talent for my client base (and I still am) however this opportunity is slightly different. 💭 This one is working with me!!!
