Our staff's wellbeing is at the forefront of what we do here at SubSea Craft. A huge thank you to Andy for an emotional and insightful presentation.
If you’ve followed my journey or heard me speak over the past few years you’ll be well aware that the catalyst to start my journey occurred in 2017. There have been obstacles, direction changes and bags of exploration. I was humbled today to share some of my story and the strategies that I employ with the amazing humans at SubSea Craft Limited in Old Portsmouth. I truly believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason. The initial date proposed was not feasible, today became the day! I’m sitting in town right now, reflecting on my journey to date, in particular the reason I do what I do. I know the next few days will be difficult as I remember my old boyo Dewi, my faithful border collie who fell asleep on this day two years ago. I will smile as I recall the companionship and love he gave me, and when I get home I’ll sit with Peter and Cedric, who were born 2 years ago, this very week, I know I will smile. I probably shouldn’t, but I look for silver linings in everything that I experience, more often than not, I find them! Tomorrow, the 12th July is another anniversary, it’s the anniversary of the day that I became a statistic. On average for every single death by suicide there are one hundred and thirty nine people affected by that death. I’d give anything and everything to have my mate back, to roll back the clock and tell him my story. I know that can’t happen and I know it’s not possible. I’ve been blessed to be able to share my story with hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. If my mate was still alive, I would never have shared my vulnerability so openly. And no one would have tapped me on the shoulder and said ‘Mate, can you help me? I’m struggling!’ I’m hugely grateful to Nick for inviting me and to all the people that listened to me today. Thank you all for joining my journey today, by doing that, you help me to still be here tomorrow! Keep on keeping on ManGang UK 🇬🇧 🚤 🤿
