We’ve hit over 12,000 donations of The Gruffalo to children across the UK! ✨Earlier this year we launched our Gift a Gruffalo campaign in partnership with National Literacy Trust and Macmillan Children’s Books to match every copy of The Gruffalo bought from our stores or online at whsmith.co.uk with a donation of the iconic children’s book to communities where it is needed most. Running throughout the summer our amazing customers have already had a major impact with their purchases resulting in over 12,000 copies of The Gruffalo going to children across the UK. Reading is vital for improving early language, literacy, and communication skills, which are crucial for a child's development. These donations will provide children who may not currently own a book with the chance to discover the magic of reading and enhance their future life chances. But we’re not stopping there…with the campaign in place until 5th September there is still plenty of time for more customers to buy a copy of The Gruffalo today and make a significant difference, one book at a time! 📚 #ForEveryJourneyTheresAWHSmith #BookDonation

Powering up for a busy summer ⚡   This past week saw over 100 of our InMotion store managers from across the UK and Europe come together to further expand their knowledge and connect with over 40 of the world’s leading tech brands.   When it comes to selling tech it’s all about the service and experience, and our teams go above and beyond on a daily basis. The conference was just one event of many where the team spend their time deepening their product knowledge and expertise to ensure they are best placed to offer the latest advice and insight to our customers on the go.   Whether it’s an urgently needed tech accessory or an experience showcasing the latest product, InMotion has you covered.   InMotion stores can be found across the UK’s leading airports and a growing number of European airports. Encouraging children to read for fun is one of the best ways to help them reach their full potential. To support this, our Young Reader’s Programme with the National Literacy Trust gifts 5,000 books each year and supports children and primary schools in five key areas of the UK where book ownership is lowest. Our colleagues Michael and Julie from WHSmith in Middlesbrough were delighted to recently join pupils from two local primary schools for an event with author Lisette Auton. Aiming to kickstart a lifelong love of reading, every child was able to choose a book of their own to take home, with additional books selected by teachers for their school libraries ensuring more children can get access to more books. #ForEveryJourneyTheresAWHSmith #Reading #YoungReadersProgramme
