The King’s Speech emphasis on climate action is a welcome step change. 👏 If GB Energy can speed up the rollout of cheap, clean British energy, it will be our biggest and best hope for a secure energy future and well worth celebrating. Both climate and nature must be at the heart of the Government’s vision for growth. https://lnkd.in/e73i-6RN

‘Cool’ underwater tech is helping protect Adélie Penguins. 😎 These incredible birds live in a challenging and ever-changing climate. But an amazing new method of capturing Adélie penguin behavior could potentially guide their future conservation! These little birds only have so much energy to expend, making it vital they use it wisely. With support from WWF, CNRS researcher Ben Dupuis has developed a way to record the amount of energy Adélie penguins use when they forage for their food using depth sensors. Thanks to technology like this, scientists can better understand how climate change affects the energy penguins use and in turn make a leap forward when it comes to protecting them in the future. 💙 #AdeliePenguin #Conservation #Wildlife

Success is blooming for the UK’s wildflower habitats! 🙌🌼 Since the 1930s, we’ve lost 97% of our lowland wildflower habitats here in the UK. Which is why we’ve partnered with Air Wick UK, a Reckitt brand, to help restore them. We’re excited to announce we’ve now successfully protected and restored 24 million square feet of wildflower habitat in UK rural and urban spaces - helping bring our world back to life. 💚 #NationalMeadowsDay #Conservation #UKNature

We’re urging parties to commit to action on nature. 🚨 Recent polling for WWF from More in Common shows 80% of people in the UK care about nature & climate issues, while only 45% believe that politicians share their concerns. Share or leave a 💚 if you're voting for nature this #GeneralElection. #Election2024 #GE2024 #UKNature
