Dealing with a client who wants lower fees, how do you maintain a strong business relationship?
I tend to have to put in a lot of “development” time before a long- term project can begin, this can be taken for granted with endless long-lasting meetings, mind-mapping etc It should not be taken first granted. You may say “then dont do it”. All i will say is that in “making a difference” my huge body of work would not have been accomplished without development time. I was once told that it should be 3 days planning to 1 days delivery How do others schedule it?

What are the best ways to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders?
The most boring thing to do when presenting is to read word for word what is on each slide. Sir Ken Robinson used to practice the “pose, pause & pounce” process. Pose the question, pause, & then ask the audience for approval or discussion. Involve your audience (works in both real or virtual circumstances)

How do you decide when to pivot or persevere with your business idea based on the validation results?
This came at a critical time for me; a meeting next week on what value to put on knowledge generated over past 40 years of projects x 2 businesses ; i havent made millions but i feel i have made a difference; so how much will this be worth in monetary terms? I still have projects to complete so how big a part will the commercial appraisal play in my future motivation? What drives entrepreneurs (and social entrepreneurs)?

Many European coastal regions are characterized by a strong tourism industry, based on coastal tourism, beaches, leisure and nature. These tourist economies are based on a high level of gastronomy; guests receive excellent food quality in restaurants, where the local (Maritime) food finds its way to the kitchens. To maintain this high quality of gastronomy and secure it for the future, quality chefs are need, able to process local food - products in an innovative and sustainable way in the kitchens. In doing so they to promote the region as a tourist and gastronomic region. However, the coastal regions have a shortage of chefs, which are able to make the necessary innovation. The labor market is in need of new competences. The project Cooking @ Sea works in the width of the specialist - cook curriculum and develops the required competences, testing them and secure them in collaboration with a network of restaurants and partner organizations from the region. Competencies that are important for the cook of the future are; the pursuit of excellence, creativity, sustainability and the ability to process the regional product in (new) dishes. The partners of Cooking @ Sea will jointly renew the existing curriculum and with the right European competencies, make use of EQF level 3 and 4 and principles of work-based learning. In addition, each region will develop the right network with companies and restaurants. Teachers working in cooking education and the students will be offered the opportunity to train in the cuisines of the partners.
Cooking @ Sea will also make use of ESCO system to secure the labor market relevance of competences in cooking @ Sea.
