The Grade II listed building frontage with public house to rear, in a busy shopping location, has been a feature of the Sheffield cityscape for many years. A sensitive programme of demolition, restoration and construction of some 1800m2 of space was implemented. A new steel frame, walls and roof were built on 70 new piles and foundations. Knocking through into an adjacent space and the addition of a new lift and escalators formed a new retail unit of over 5000m2.

These works together with extensive remodelling of existing mechanical, electrical, smoke and life support systems was completed whilst the surrounding retail operations continued unhindered.
