The stock of a great UX is rising 📈 I'm biased as a UX-focused founder but... Gary sees a lot of demos and should know, given his role as CEO of YCombinator. AI is an input, not an outcome. And this particular input is readily obtained. AI does not differentiate a product (unless you are truly on the technical frontier). Anyone can make calls to the OpenAI API or whatever. It was cute for a minute, but... "Same mediocre product but now with AI" is losing its marketing luster. Once the hype cycle fades, people always return to wanting to see differentiated value. They want to solve their problems better than they solved them yesterday. Bank on it. If you've found a way to use AI to build a better mousetrap—that others can't easily replicate... Then THAT's valuable. UX is a wonderful vehicle to create this value. More true than ever as barriers to technical entry fade.

The computer chip is the brain is one of the last frontiers for mankind. Sure, we need to planet hop eventually, but in a sci-fi future we ship bodies and stream consciousness. Ok, I know I'm way out there, but as Thanos would say, "I am... inevitable." Granted we have a couple of kinks to figure out along the way, but we will get there. I have faith. For all the old timers out there, you grew up in a time when our parents made use of everything in the fridge you'll understand what we did with this week's episode. We've created a pot of all the "cutting room floor" snippets, so enjoy, and forgive us for any raw and unfiltered moments. We also dig in to AI content moderation's "challenges." The metaverse will allow people to live in homogenized bubbles and experience x-realities that may never have been available to them. Yes, one day you may truly experience what it feels like to fly. Not so far fetched when the brain chip is capable of controlling more functions. We also debate Kevin's reluctance to allow AI to thrive in the arts. AI is quickly proving itself to be a multi-talented actor, writer, athlete, and pretty much everything else. Let's not suppress AI like we did other pioneers. Grounding your narratives To build credibility and inspire confidence, your story must be firmly rooted in scientific evidence and discovery. Use robust scientific data to support your claims but build messages around your insights and human emotions. Whether discussing the efficacy of a new drug, the results of a clinical trial, or the mechanisms of a novel treatment, ensure that every statement has a purpose in your story flow. Tips for telling science-led stories For those new to crafting science-led narratives in the pharmaceutical/biotech field, here's a key tip: simplify without diluting. While it’s essential to convey complex scientific concepts accurately, it’s equally important to make them accessible to your broader audience. Science doesn’t need to have complex language to support it. Simplify the language, and use analogies or metaphors to explain difficult concepts without diluting the scientific integrity of your message. So ... 1. Humanise the story: Include personal anecdotes or case studies that illustrate the real-world impact of your science. This not only makes the story more relatable but also highlights the practical benefits of your product, such as on quality of life and productivity. 2. Use clear and concise language: This helps make your story more understandable and engaging. 3. Write for your audience: Tailor your story to the knowledge level and needs of your audience. 4. Be visually engaging: Diagrams, infographics, charts can illustrate your data and concepts, and make your scientific information more digestible, engaging and memorable. Brands that are bold enough to build beyond the clinical side of their service can create great impact… That’s how we felt working with Fig - Food Is Good. Their appetite to be bold in the branding allowed us to find levity in the identity. FIG was built to give people with dietary restrictions a new lens on life to see all the foods they can eat. It helps them easily find foods they can eat online or in-store. The research showed that people felt isolated and lonely in their quest to find food they can eat. And the levity and playfulness we built into the brand helped create that feeling of inclusion… That you’re not alone on that journey. And it really landed in the market too… 250k active users within 2 months of launch. Clients with a great product giving you freedom to be bold? Not much more you can ask for as an agency.
