Game Changer! I needed this to unleash the full potential of the Show 8!
I might be in the minority here, but ever since I got my hands on my first Echo device, I had to have a battery base for each one. But for the new Show 8 (3rd Generation), I was even more eager to pair it with an official battery base and finally, we have one—and it changes everything for the better!First off, if the ability to make your smart speaker PORTABLE isn’t enough of a reason to love this, it’s ALSO great because it serves as a battery backup if the power goes out or when I’m changing some wiring and need to unplug the unit. It saves a lot of time and headaches because I don’t need to wait for my devices to reconnect and rebootBut what makes this truly awesome is that I can now take my smart speaker with me and use it’s otherwise backward facing Spatial Audio to its full potential by temporarily putting it somewhere more centrally located for me. AND I can get up and close to use the touch screen and widgets without worrying about pulling the plug out of the wall! (Yeah…I’ve done that too many times). For me, I like to have it by my bedside, but that that means it’s facing a corner which isn’t ideal for microphone pickup and speaker placement. Now I can just dock it for the night in the corner, but pull it out and run in battery for when I’m needing it for other purposes. It’s really a must-have.A few noteworthy mentions: this is a 5200 mAh battery stand (with - bit of tilt functionality) that connects via an included jumper cable and magnets. It really all just snaps into place. The capacity is perhaps lower than some might desire (it’s not for an all-day and night heavy jam session), but the manufacturer still claims it can get 4 hours of streaming video.I think this is probably a good compromise to keep this thing at a reasonable weight and cost, while also representing most real use-cases: with the Show 8 primarily being plugged in to a wall outlet and only sometimes used unplugged for streaming video or music. and note that you can leave this plugged in all the time so the battery is charged by the Show’s original charging cable while also powering the Show 8 (passing through via the jumper cable). There’s no blips or power drops—even when unplugging the wall power. Just make sure that the battery base is actually on and charged! Haha…yeah I’ve forgotten once or twice…All in all—it’s well made and it works, adding a whole new world of possibilities for the Show 8. I love it!I hope this helps!
Bought the Echo Show 8 to cut back on wear and tear on my phone battery for streaming while doing housework, but it’s not always convenient to plug in. Then I discovered THIS!! It is big, and a little heavy, but it has good functionality as a stand for height and tilt, but NO MORE CORD is priceless. I keep it plugged in on my nightstand at night, but during the day I place it wherever. The battery life seems pretty good so far. I generally run out of juice before it does.. Looking forward to using by my pool (under patio roof-not direct sun) with the convenience of Alexa for music selection.

I had some initial difficulties getting the product to work, but after reaching out to the company via email, I was promptly assisted. I found out that the solution lay in correctly orienting the cables: the power cable needs to be on the right side, while the connector cable must be inserted on the left side to power the battery for the Alexa. Since then, I've been using the product without major issues. The battery lasts quite a while and has battery level indicators that show its current charge. I'm quite satisfied with my experience so far.
Have had this unit for a couple weeks and it doesn't hold a charge, Unplugged it goes from four lights to 2 in less than 5 minutes. dont waste the money
Poor battery life, I believe it says 5 hours, but it only lasted 1 hour for me when I took it outside. Very disappointed with this aspect. It looks nice and is better than just having on the counter though.
power input and output so that i can keep it plugged in to use as a backup source of power for my echo show. so if the power were to go out, it would give my echo show 5 hours of life since i use it as my bedroom alarm
