I own the SX-70, 680, 600, and several other instant cameras that have been part of my collection since I was younger. I can confidently say this is Polaroid's best camera in terms of features, compatibility, and convenience. However, I still find the reflex mirror viewfinder on the 680 and SX-70 to be superior to the viewfinder on the I-2. After some practice and getting the hang of framing my shots, I've improved, but I hope Polaroid releases a version of the I-2 (maybe an I-3?) that uses a reflex mirror viewfinder instead. The bag/case that it comes with is clunky and honestly not the best, but it'll do for travel purposes.

Recently got into film photography as a hobby and have several cheap instant cameras. Lately I have been considering a vintage Polaroid like the SX-70 or Sun 660 but had doubts on reliability. Then I saw Polaroid came out with a brand new camera that had similar results with the I-2. Programming all manual controls and configuring shooting "recipies" with the Polaroid app has been fun to experiment with. The lens is sharp! I have not seen this level of quality with previous instant cameras I have used. It is a bit expensive but when comparing to re-sale price of higher end vintage Polaroids this was not too much more expensive and has all the tech features I was looking for. So far so good!

It is absolutely NOT worth it! I bought the i-2 and the Now+ cameras and tested them both out thoroughly before returning the I-2 because it 100% doesn’t deserve the price tag it has!!! Don’t get this! Just get the one that is around $120! It is just as good! Polaroid pics will be Polaroid pics, don’t waste your $!

My wife and I own the I2 and Now+ Polaroid cameras. The I2 definitely gives better and clearer photos in a variety of situations. Hands down the I2 takes the most consistent pictures and I appreciate having a little control on the F-stop, but use the auto mode most of the time to build our polaroid albums and add to the Polaroid wall portraits we have.

Unfortunately our I2 came with dust under the main front lens (reference attached photo) and I'll be returning this one and purchasing another. I have attached photos taken with the Now+ and I2 in similar lighting conditions. The black and white photos were all taken with the I2; the two house photos with the i2 and Now+... the darker contrast home photo is the Now+. You'll have to take my word that the lighting conditions with overcast were similar. We have plenty of photos having the same results. I wouldn't say one is better than the other and is more of a preference. The I2 gathers more light and can sometimes add too much contrast to the photos, but still turn out details and reasonable. Quality of the photos and contrast seems to mostly boil down to the quality of film produced in batches and that's a gamble with Polaroid. Regardless, we are pretty happy with our photos and that's just something you'll have to accept and what makes a Polaroid picture a Polaroid.

We decided to invest in Polaroid picture provided taking photos in their moments with all their imperfections... it is a chance to slow down at times and be a little more intentional having tangible photos that shared the same place and time that they were taken in the niche format.

I'm not a fan of the sealed battery of the I2... definitely a negative, but that's the direction the company, as most, are headed for now. Hopefully it'll provide us a reasonable amount of service in time and I am glad that Polaroid is making a comeback under the investment and faith of the Impossible project/team.

    3/11/24...........
Really liked the camera, but there is debris building up on the lens under the glass cover again... pretty frustrating. Will just stick to the Now+ camera to build on my polaroid collection.

I know how to shoot in manual and attended a photography school to learn from experts. I’ve taken photos all over the world using manual settings only.

This camera is a fun toy. A toy that is priced as a professional camera. The auto feature is useless as it will over expose or under expose. When I set the right settings the photos are often blurry even with the max shutter speed. Slower shutter speeds make the photo unrecognizable. With DSLR you can see your results before or immediately after. This film takes up to 20 minutes to fully develop just to see it didn’t work.
I spent nearly $500 just on film trying to get ONE good photo and I didn’t succeed. I’ve used every logical aperture and shutter speed imaginable with no good results. In my opinion this is a kids toy worth about 10% of what they’re asking.

In conclusion I would have rather given the money to someone in need as this was a waste.
