Publisher's summary

With the walls closing in, Navy SEAL sniper James Reece is on a race to dismantle a conspiracy that has forced America to her knees in the latest high-octane thriller that seems ripped from the headlines from the “hottest author on the thriller scene today” (The Real Book Spy), #1 New York Times bestseller Jack Carr.

You think you know James Reece. Think again.

A storm is on the horizon. America’s days are numbered. A Chinese submarine has gone rogue and is navigating towards the continental United States, putting its nuclear missiles within striking distance of the West Coast.

A rising Silicon Valley tech mogul with unknown allegiances is at the forefront of a revolution in quantum computing and Artificial Intelligence.

A politician controlled by a foreign power is a breath away from the Oval Office.

Three seemingly disconnected events are on a collision course to ignite a power grab unlike anything the world has ever seen.

The country’s only hope is a quantum computer that has gone dark, retreating to the deepest levels of the internet, learning at a rate inconceivable at her inception. But during her time in hiding, she has done more than learn. She has become a weapon. She is now positioned to act as either the country’s greatest savior or its worst enemy. She is known as “Alice” and her only connection to the outside world is to a former Navy SEAL sniper named James Reece who has left the violence of his past life behind.

Will there be blood?

Count on it!

Will the forces that threaten to destroy the United States be enough to light the fuse of Reece’s resurrection? From “master novelist” (Ballistic magazine) Jack Carr comes his most intense thriller to date, pressing “emotional buttons that other writers wouldn’t dare explore” (The Real Book Spy).

My favorite so far!!

The story is great as well as Ray Porter’s reading of it. I have read or listened to every Jack Carr book and I have thoroughly enjoyed each. This book, however, shows how much Mr. Carr has grown as an author. I’m thankful for his creativity and gift, and that he shares them with us.

Jack continues his thriller dominance.

Jack Carr is my favorite author. His books are second to none that I’ve read or listened to. You will not regret downloading this audiobook or any of his other works. I highly recommend starting from the beginning.

It's Getting Weird...

I've been on the James Reece train since day one! Buy and listen to ALL of them as released! It's been a great ride but seems to be running out of steam. First of all JR is starting to get a little too James Bond like getting out of too many impossible situations that stretch credibility....

This storyline is the most preposterous of all so far! I mean I liked it, it was a lot of fun but the series is deviating too far from reality for me.

Starting to get a little formulaic as well.... The ending may indicate a change of pace....a new chapter...new characters... who knows.

As always Ray Porter knocks it out of the park! He could read the phone book and I'd be enthralled!

Can't wait for the next installment!

Is this the end?

I'm not sure what to say. The book was yet another amazing listen but left me at jaw dropping. Carr is not 100% fiction so I find him an enticing educational combined with amazing storytelling author. And hoping Reece will reemerge miraculously in the same or disguised persona. If not I hope he continues since looking forward to his next book leaves me with positive anticipation. Add Ray Porter to the equation and you have the best of the best.

Another great addition to Jack Carr novels.

The book did not skip a beat from the previous book. The intensity started fast and kept up to the very end. I could not stop listening to the book and before I knew the story was at its end. Great book overall and sad that I have to wait to see what Jack Carr has to offer in his next books.
