it was amazing

I have to confess that I was given this book by the publisher to participate in the reading club. I'm very grateful because it was EXCELLENT and now I have it to read again later. This is one of the best history books I've ever read. While reading the book, George Washington became a real person for me, instead of the historical figure we all have on a pedestal. Logan uses different events during Washington's life to show us lessons he learned, conflicts he had to resolve and difficult choices he struggled with. One of my favorite moments from the book was when he was saying goodbye to his men after the war - I won't spoil it for you, you'll have to read about it. Personally, I can't wait for Logan to write another book so I can learn more about Washington's presidency.

Aside from the historical value of the book, it was fascinating to see that the more things change, they more they stay the same. During the revolutionary war, they were dealing with many of the same issues and circumstances we are coping with now - just without the technology.

Read the book - you'll love it!
