I am trying to delete my google workspace account but cannot because of google cloud resource.

Hello,

I am in the process of trying to delete an account for a business that has shut down. I have downloaded all the data, went into google cloud and initiated deletions for what I thought were all the projects, but I am still unable to delete the account.

Here is the error:

Delete Google Cloud resources

xyz.com has at least 1 Google Cloud resource. Learn how to delete Google Cloud resources
Go to Google Cloud console

When on Google Cloud console, I see the only thing left in there is the system-gsuite folder and within it: apps-script

When attempting to delete this folder, I get this error:

You need permissions for this action.
Required permission(s):

system-gsuite
resourcemanager.folders.delete

As far as I know, I am the admin to this, so should have permission to delete. 

 

All other projects have been queued to delete. 

Please advise!

Hello @helpmedelete1  ,Welcome on Google Cloud Community.

Only 3 predefined roles contain permissions to delete folder:

* Folder Admin
* Folder Editor
* Cloud Deployment Manager Service Agent

Grant either Folder Editor or Folder Admin role at Organization level for your principal, and you should be able to remove directories.
