After analyzing the business, a vision is needed for the future, which is usually three to five years away. A key exercise is that the value proposition and purpose are clear plus that key factors can be explained. If the various units participate, it is faster to target the business from the current state to the vision. Create draft action plans and reconciliation points. It should contain responsibilities, priorities and be linked between departments to be able to overview different types of necessary resources going forward. An additional success factor is being able to communicate a common message.

Interventions are the actions and activities that you plan and execute to improve your business performance, such as launching a new product, reorganizing your structure, developing new skills, or changing your culture. To design and implement effective interventions, you need to consider the needs and preferences of your target audience, the resources and constraints of your situation, the best practices and evidence from your field, and the feedback and evaluation from your results.

When the necessary analyzes are done, it is time to create improvements and clarify what is in the plans. Most of the time, it's about small differences that together can create big effects. In this process, it can be important to have a project group that identifies which people will lead and which projects will later contribute. A good work tool is brainstorming, which in three steps can clarify projects, identify them in groups and finally prioritize within the groups. The exercise provides an opportunity to gain an understanding of needs, insight into the various interest groups and clarify which driving forces are current internal/external. In connection with this,take a further step and analyze the surrounding world/industry/company .

Just by writing on a paper, saying it name of 'resolution', like many people recently should have already taken some new year resolutions. But does that mean? That we have got a good body, if we have just mentioned it in resolution list for this year..🤷♀️ Without working, absolutely no!! Right? 🙂 The same way its about business here, when it comes to grow and develope our organisation. We need to stepstone, it does not work only by just putting it on paper or issuing vision mission statements✅ We also need to work as per them by looking at those as roadmap.

Feedback is everything. When I was learning to drive, I’d always look back in the side view mirrors after taking a turn to confirm that I was reasonably distant from any objects. Feedback as basic as this ensured that I never got a scratch on my car till date. It became part of my muscle memory. If you’re not aware of the consequences of your business decisions, you’re building in the dark. Always make sure to reflect on your actions else there’s no scope for improvement. Feedback collection and assimilation needs to be in the muscle memory of your Org Dev. And it needs to apply across stakeholders: your clients, employees, vendors, investors, everyone. Your hunger for feedback will define your business growth. There is no alternative.

No summit is ever truly reached. Think of it like constantly checking your compass and adjusting your route. After each intervention, we took time to reflect on its effectiveness. What worked? What didn't? How could we improve? It was like constantly fine-tuning our gear and strategy for the next leg of the journey. We built a culture of continuous feedback and improvement. We conducted regular surveys, held team retrospectives, and encouraged open communication about challenges. This iterative approach helped us refine our processes, adapt to changing circumstances, and stay ahead of the curve.

Best OD skill: Quickly realising when you’ve outgrown a task or job and outsourcing it to someone else so you can focus on value-adding activities that only you can do (or you’re the best person to do it) *and then swiftly hiring or outsourcing the tasks to the right person/team*

An entrepreneur's life is generally spent running as fast as you can. You live very much in the now. One of the hardest things to do is stop and look around. You can't asses the situation unless you observe the situation. I highly recommend putting a few hours on your schedule weekly to observe where you've been and visualize where you're going. Think of it like a game of chess. The extra effort and planning will pay significant dividends toward the growth and sustainability of your company.
