There is a little psychology here, ok, a lot, but at our core, humans need to feel needed and respected for their contributions to whatever they're doing. No one can feel needed without understanding what is needed from them in the first place. Team leaders cannot expect to meet goals handed down to them without clearly articulating to their team members what needs to be accomplished, by whom, by when, and the positive/negative consequences of meeting or failing to meet said goals. As a team leader, no one knows your team and their space better than you. You'll recognize the relative achievability of goals handed down to your team. If you feel given goals are unachievable, fight for better goals. You can't get what you don't ask for.

As the IT Team Lead within our organization, I firmly believe that fostering trust among team members is paramount to maximizing productivity. It's essential to delegate tasks with confidence, trusting each team member to deliver results. However, equally important is providing constructive feedback and guidance when necessary, ensuring that corrections are made with care and consideration for individual growth. Furthermore, emphasizing a culture of continuous learning is imperative in the dynamic field of IT, where staying abreast of new developments and technologies is crucial for success. Encouraging team members to pursue ongoing education and skill enhancement also strengthens the collective expertise of the team.

Tener reuniones periódicas es importante para brindarles seguridad en su labor diaria a todo el equipo de trabajo, sobre todo cuando se incorporan miebros nuevos, para brindarles seguridad y confiaza.

Trust your team. You have your team for a reason, give them fun projects, diversify their skill and challenge what they know to find out what they excel at. You'll be surprised to see just how diversely skilled your team is at helping you with many things. This will also offer them a chance to spread their wings a bit from the norm and develop personal skills to assist in their career path.

As a technical support team lead, ways to make your team to be @ their best are: -Encourage collaboration and team spirit because a technical support personnel must be able to work across multifunctional teams. -Be a leader and not a boss, show your team how to get things done not just telling them to do it . This will promote communication, dedication and hard work within the team

There is no right or wrong way to do something as long as the end result is the same. Having lead a support team I encourage what I call a "Team Huddle". This is where we get together to talk about anything and everything the team may be having and receiving input from everyone. Evaluate the input and propose compromises that everyone can agree upon. Teamwork makes the dream work. I like to follow up with a 1 on 1 just taking the time to thank the team member for their input and point out their hard work that I have noticed and asking if there's anything I can assist them with.

Positive reinforcement is so important! A team that feels like they only get to talk to management when there's a problem or when they're in trouble does not have a sense of being a team. Making sure to celebrate even small wins can make the whole difference in your staff.

Thank them. Too many times I see people do great work and not even receive a job well done. If they stay late, resolve a particularly hard issue or have gone out of their way to ensure something is done. Show your appreciation, it goes a long way in motivating them and showing them that you can see the work they are putting in and it's not being blindsided.

I prefer to have each team member email me the name of a person whom they feel went above and beyond during the month. Of course they can't vote for themselves. Once the votes are in, at no specific date or time but within a few days, I enjoy walking up to the winner and say "The team has recognized your hard work this month and present usally a giftcard or something i know the particular team member would like. (ex: The person likes nice writing instruments, so I may get them a Cross pen with their name engraved.)
