Experiencing a setback can leave you grappling with self-doubt and limiting beliefs. It's natural to feel disheartened, but it's crucial to understand that these mental barriers can be overcome. Limiting beliefs often lurk beneath the surface of your conscious mind, subtly influencing your decisions and actions. A personal coach can help you bring these beliefs into the light through reflective questioning and discussion. By acknowledging the existence of these self-imposed barriers, you can begin the process of challenging them. Your coach will guide you to dissect the origins of these beliefs, whether they stem from past experiences or external influences, and help you understand how they've been holding you back.

As a coach and doctor of psychology I like to bring together different perspectives. If clients are open to it I prefer to run a clients Human Design Chart to see who they really are and then we can see how the conditioning of outside influences have colored their experience. It's so easy to get caught up in other peoples opinions and I start with who you were born to be and help bring you back home to yourself.

It’s difficult to identify our old beliefs and break the pattern of it at times, as we wont recognise the root of the problem we mostly focus on the surface area and hardly reach the roots. This leads a tendency of working only on surface area like when we see a layer of fungus on lake or pond we clean it but what about the stale water thats beneath?, this is where a coach or a mentor’ expertise guide a person exactly where the problem is rooted? . The simplest way to go to roots is to know the triggers of your emotions, why am I being angry or sad? And no its not something thats seen in that situation this is coming from that one childhood pattern which we overlooked at that phase of our life!! Enroute it !! Divya Alvares

Begin identifying where your limiting beliefs come from, and take some time to get into the root cause of it. Ask yourself some thought provoking questions about those limiting beliefs and who told you that those beliefs were true. Reframing is a great way to begin shifting your beliefs that align with you.
Once you've identified your limiting beliefs, the next step is to challenge them. Your personal coach will encourage you to question the validity of these beliefs and consider alternative perspectives. You'll be guided through exercises designed to shift your mindset, such as reframing negative thoughts into positive affirmations or visualizing success. This process isn't about ignoring reality but rather about creating a more empowering narrative that supports your growth and objectives.

Using a process like hypnotherapy and neuro linguistic programming you can actually revisit a belief as if you were objectively seeing yourself first decide them. Then learn from why you no longer need the limiting belief. It works because your brain will see things in a new way and relearn how to decide differently.

Coaches can help you reframe negative thoughts and view situations from different perspectives. For example, instead of seeing a setback as a failure, you might reframe it as a learning opportunity or a step towards growth.
-
Here my point of you to how you can challenge your beliefs. Once you find what was the root cause of the problem that is the old belief one can simply rephrase the statement and work on it. Like Old Limiting Beliefs- , “I believed that I cant run a business because I have seen my elders working all their life, the one who went into business failed miserably” Rephrase it- “Its ok to fail in adventures, I can learn from my failures, taking risk is ok and normal as my ultimate goal is to do something that I love the most, so yes Business would be my learning and I would do it” Training your mind is in your hands, and its simple by re wiring it!! Coach/Mentor helps you do this efficiently and effortlessly with their expertise Divya Alvares

Reframing is a great way to begin shifting your mindset. Letting go of old limiting beliefs that were put upon you growing up is a challenge, but its a great challenge to begin changing how YOU see things and what YOU believe to be true for yourself. Reframe the picture you see in your mind, begin seeing what your heart desires you are the producer of your life and if you don't like the picture on the screen, then you have the power to change the film.
Goal setting is a powerful tool for overcoming limiting beliefs. With the help of your personal coach, you'll learn to set clear, achievable goals that are aligned with your values and aspirations. Your coach will ensure that these goals are SMART—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound—providing a structured framework for progress. By focusing on small, incremental steps, you'll build confidence and demonstrate to yourself that you're capable of overcoming obstacles.

I would like to elaborate this point, setting goals is easy but reaching to the destination is a journey where one has to initiate with an handholding. There are certain manmade rules which actually works to reach the goal in an little comfortable way, this is where coaches come into picture. In simple words they make you disciplined, being consistent, push to your best… Handholding helps one self as there are constant failures which would need a push on the back to keep going. To my experience not everyone is strong headed to start again, wherein everyone is capable of doing it. So to keep the capabilities on Handholding helps immensely and powerfully Divya Alvares
Failure is an inevitable part of life, but it doesn't have to reinforce limiting beliefs. A personal coach will help you reframe failure as a learning opportunity rather than a reflection of your worth or abilities. You'll be encouraged to analyze setbacks objectively, extracting lessons and insights that can inform future endeavors. Embracing failure as part of the growth process allows you to move forward with greater wisdom and resilience.
-
When we often think of failure we think the end of the road, but is it really? Look at "failure" as feedback, its giving you a detour to try another route and to learn from what didn't go right the first time, embrace it and get back up. Remember its ok to erase and rewrite. Resilience is key to overcoming limiting beliefs, and a personal coach will support you in developing this vital skill. You'll learn strategies for maintaining a positive outlook, managing stress, and bouncing back from challenges. Your coach will provide encouragement and accountability, helping you stay committed to your personal development journey. As you cultivate resilience, you'll find that setbacks become less daunting and that your limiting beliefs lose their grip on your actions.
The journey of personal growth is not one you have to undertake alone. Seeking support from a personal coach can make a significant difference in how effectively you overcome limiting beliefs. A coach offers not just expertise but also an outside perspective that can illuminate blind spots and unexplored possibilities. They act as a sounding board for your ideas, fears, and aspirations, helping you navigate the path to your goals with confidence and clarity.
