Have a GREAT attitude. Everything in the world seems to be going downhill fast, but your own personal attitude is completely within your control. Recognize that some are not in control of their emotions, and it’s okay to disagree without making enemies, that’s how respect is fostered. However, employers will rarely reward you for your professional and positive attitude, so if you’re not getting what’s fair, start looking somewhere else immediately. You can mention you saw a posting at a competitive company for more money and even print it out and show it to your boss. Positively, and truthfully request that they match the competitor’s offer. Hint: Everyone is hiring right now.
