My perspective in planning in IT consulting is from a sales perspective. The key to organizing your time is to make sure you are partnered with leadership on what is expected of you. Once you are on the same page, make sure you put very specific time aside each day to plan who you are targeting. To ensure that long-term objectives are fulfilled, postpone critical but non-urgent work. Determine priorities on a regular basis and adjust as needed. Effective task monitoring and management are facilitated by the use of programmes such as Trello or Asana.
