Moreover, training and empowering employees to utilize these tools can foster a more data-driven and informed organizational culture, enhancing overall business performance.

Know the reports and analytics available out of the box. Monitor the features that are coming up in the upcoming versions. Understand the current state of the product and the business processes. These factors will most likely to help making informed decisions.

I recently had a discussion with nearly 80 people coming from the wholesale distribution business. And all were complaining about missing data quality for product and master data. On the other hand, AI 🤖 was identified to increase the data quality and validate the existing data. So, data might be the new gold. But you always have to validate the data quality before you take decisions on the data or let AI work with the data. Do you agree?

My experience is that clients can only take on so much with limited resources. Their subject matter experts cannot dedicate enough time to the project and often serve to be part of the critical path. Plan to work around their availability and critical business events. The schedule will be what it is and needs the right input from the business to truly be successful.

I believe this is a far more important part and functionality of an ERP system. Unfortunately, I have not witnessed using this tool by most of the organizations, rather most of the companies depend on manual scenario planning tools like Advanced Excel, etc. which makes the organisations people dependent rather than process or systems dependent.

ERPs that has test environments, allows you to test different scenarios, in order to fullfill your needs, and also to test different setups. I dont think that is mandatory, but if its possible, you can test setups before trying those in PROD, with few or none errors.

Reflection is review process and thinking about re-living the situation again with the knowledge of what we have learnt so far on the topic. It is important to think through about the biases and assumptions made during the processes. An important question to always ask is – did we find a solution to the problem ? or did we land ourselves finding a befitting problem for the solution (technology provides) ?

Há sempre um paradoxo sobre o ERP, o sistema deve mudar os processos das empresas ou a empresa deve customizar o ERP? É sempre uma boa consideração a se fazer. Por um lado o ERP traz as melhores praticas do mercado, por outro, os processos nao podem "amarrar" as empresas. O que vale, é sempre avaliar qual o ganho das adaptações e as responsabilidades gerenciais que uma empresa deve fazer ao adaptar-se ao ERP. Há praticas que são padrões por serem as melhores, já provadas. De qualquer maneira, customizar o ERP pode ser uma boa ideia se não requerer uma mudança grande no sistema. Particularmente, sou sempre a favor de manter sistemas desacoplados para melhorar a manutenção, otimização, e evolução dos sistemas.
