What do you do if your technical skills in fleet operations are undervalued in an interview?

Based on the rules of the interview, I can only chip in and elaborate on my skills by asking questions. This approach allows me to demonstrate how my skills can help the potential firm achieve its goals. This is if, my skills are undervalued during interview.

Qualifications are only the starting point. Demonstrate suitability by specific cases handled in previous roles. Improvements in Safety, efficiency ,productivity with exact facts and figures will go a long way to project the person as a suitable candidate.

Fleet forms part of the company's assets and good assets management is very vital in maintaining the value of the company. Effective management saves the company from wasting funds through avoidable costs such as delays, accidents, penalties and even loss of unsatisfied clients. The effeveness of tracking and freight management in the premises and on the minimise loses through theft and hijacking of loads. Good fleet management also enhance the name and reputation of the company as the trusted and reliable among competitors. Company's good name on and effective fleet control has ability to increase revenue and help other company's departments with on time and up to date line of communication and accute information.

1- Politely inquire about their concerns or what additional information they may need to better understand the value i can bring to the role. 2- Highlight my ability to solve complex problems and address challenges in fleet operations using my technical skills. 3- Share examples of how i have overcome obstacles or implemented innovative solutions in previous roles. 4- If i continue to encounter challenges in having my technical skills valued, i may want to explore other opportunities where my expertise is more appreciated. It's very important to find a work environment that acknowledges and respects my strengths🙂.

I agree with this approach. Providing a good example that relates to the issues of the interviewing firm will be relevant and on point, effectively showcasing my value in fleet operations if it is being undervalued.

Staying updated with industry trends is an absolutely important action and if some creative solution can be found to existing challenges that's the master stroke.
