We are a purpose-driven business on a mission to end the ocean plastic crisis. Over 30 million pounds of trash removed!

About us

4ocean is a mission-driven for-profit business, dedicated to ending the ocean plastic crisis. Over 30 million pounds of trash removed from the world's oceans, rivers, and coastlines since 2017! Founded In 2017, 4ocean was created with the mission to sell a product that would enable the company to fund a worldwide cleanup initiative. This is how our first product, the 4ocean bracelet, was born. Made from recycled materials, every bracelet purchased funds the removal of five pounds of trash from the ocean and coastlines. In less than 6 years, we have sold enough bracelets to enable us to pull over 30 million pounds of trash from the ocean. Bracelet sales are just the beginning. We are building an assortment of high quality, sustainably-made products that will help people reduce their dependence on single-use plastic, reuse the materials we collect from the ocean, and celebrate the 4ocean brand and ocean-conscious lifestyle. Beyond our products, we combat the ocean plastic crisis through technology, cleanups, influence, and education. We are a for-profit business, because we believe in creating sustainable, profitable business models around cleaning the ocean rather than relying on external funding. Our ocean clean-up operations, currently in the U.S., Guatemala, and Indonesia, are meticulously documented and audited for transparency, and are regularly expanding to new locations and deploying new clean-up technologies. As of May 2023, our operations employ hundreds of people around the world, pulling trash seven days a week.

Our cleanup crews are on a mission to recover ghost nets from our oceans, and the results are both heartbreaking and inspiring. 💙 Ghost nets are abandoned fishing gear that can cause severe entanglement for marine life, posing a huge threat to the health of our ecosystems. In our latest effort, we found this little crab tangled in the net, a reminder of the urgent need to address this issue. To create change, we need to advocate for cleaner oceans and safer habitats for all marine life.

You've got to put in the work. Wether it is getting dirty and pulling nets out of the ocean, or putting in the time building a business. It's tough, it's gritty, and it's absolutely necessary. When we talk about ocean conservation, it's not just about the big wins and the headlines. It's about the daily grind, the constant effort, and commitment to making an impact. Every piece of trash pulled from the ocean, every net removed, and every win for the business is a step closer to a cleaner ocean. This stuff is incredibly hard, but it’s rewarding. It’s about getting out there and getting after it, not just talking about it. It’s about understanding that real change comes from consistent effort and dedication. Whether it’s cleaning up plastic, adopting a more sustainable lifestyle, or driving awareness, it all starts with putting in the work. At 4ocean, we’re committed to the mission every single day. Our team of captains and crew are out on the water, recovering ghost nets, collecting plastic, and making a tangible impact on our ocean. We're not just sitting back and hoping for change, we're busting ass and making it happen. But this isn't just about us. It's about everyone who supports our mission, everyone who believes in the power of collective action. Together, we’re creating a huge impact on the ocean and marine life. So next time you think about the ocean, remember the effort that goes into preserving it. Remember the crews pulling up nets, the teams cleaning the ocean, and the communities coming together. Let's keep pushing, keep killing it, and keep putting in the work. Together, we can end the ocean plastic crisis. #OceanConservation #Sustainability #PutInTheWork #4Ocean #CleanOceans #EnvironmentalImpact #MakeADifference #TeamEffort #StayStoked
