AFCEA is an international organization that serves its members by providing a forum for the ethical exchange of information. AFCEA is dedicated to increasing knowledge through the exploration of issues relevant to its members in information technology, communications, and electronics for the defense, homeland security and intelligence communities, and other government entities with components supporting these missions. The El Paso Chapter of AFCEA supports this mission by fostering strong, trusted relationships with government organizations and industry partners who are both local and global in their support of US national defense, and in collaboration with allies/coalition partners, academia, and civic organizations.

Currently spearheading efforts for U.S. Army PEO C3T and acting as Liaison to the Army Futures Command, Bert shared insights on the Army's latest network, systems, and more.
