Today, February 16, marks a day in which we honor one of Alaska's greatest civil rights activists and leaders. Elizabeth Peratrovich worked tirelessly on behalf of Alaska Natives and was a driving force behind Alaska’s first anti-discrimination law back in 1945, when our state was still just a territory. To this day her name represents steadfast hope, perseverance, and landmark change. We are all living in a better Alaska as a result of her fearless fight for equality – something we should remember not just today, but every day. #ElizabethPeratrovich
