📌"You're going to experience highs, lows, and everything in between. When you are in the valley, don't stay there too long. You must have something that helps you escape that valley. You are all hard-charging Airmen, and as you push along and climb whatever your Mount Everest in life is, it's not okay to die on that hill. Sometimes, you just have to settle for Kilimanjaro instead." -CMSgt Fitch, AFMC Command Chief.🏔 The AFMC Agile Patriot 2024 is just one way we're preparing our junior uniformed and civilian Airmen to meet today’s challenges. The event focused on reoptimization for the Great Power Competition and the importance of care of mission, self, and others. #USAF #Airmen #defense #DAFGPC

Challenge accepted: The Air Force Research Laboratory handpicked some of its most gifted junior force military members and DOD civilians to develop and deliver low-cost solutions to counter slow-moving, high-altitude aerial targets by the end of 2024. In mid-December 2024, the two teams are slated to compete head-to-head at a common proving ground where they will test and demonstrate their proposed solutions in front of a panel of judges. From there, winning Commander’s Challenge teams may witness the transition of their novel technologies to established programs of record at CRI, the commercial and industrial markets, or other branches of the U.S. military. #defense #AFRL #USAF

#ICYMI An unarmed Mk21A reentry vehicle was tested June 17 after being launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base aboard a Minotaur I rocket. The launch was an in-flight environmental test supporting the development of the Air Force's new Mk21A RV. The Mk21A RV is currently under contract with Lockheed Martin for its engineering and manufacturing development phase. After attaining full operational capability, the Mk21A RV will be integrated on the nation’s intercontinental ballistic missile weapon system. The Mk21A program is currently in early development and overseen by the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. #defense #launch #Mk21A #USAFD

It's so hard to say goodbye... The MH-139A that took off June 27 from Duke Field at Eglin Air Force Base marked the last aircraft out and official end of the new helicopter’s time at Eglin. It will now assume a future as an Air Force Global Strike Command combat-capable asset. The MH-139 arrived at Eglin in December 2019 and was officially named Grey Wolf shortly after. For its first two years, testing was limited for the then Boeing-owned aircraft. The 413th Flight Test Squadron teamed up with AFGSC’s Detachment 7 to manage, fly and crew the test missions with Boeing flight crew during the aircraft’s time at Eglin. In August 2022, the Air Force took ownership and testing began quickly with as many as six aircraft located at Duke Field, one of Eglin’s many auxiliary fields. The DT phase began August 2022 and ended in February, with follow-on tests occurring throughout 2024. #USAF #greyWolf #MH139A #defense
