Learning about the latest advancements in spinal cord injury treatment. Dr. Abhinav Arora addressed rehabilitation professionals and postgraduate physicians in The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency Program at a recent lunch-and-learn held on our Scranton campus. A second-year post-graduate physician, Dr. Arora shared insights into cutting-edge advancements in spinal cord injury treatment. The presentation was the most recent in a series of educational sessions hosted by Residents at Allied Services. Allied Services Scranton Rehab Hospital’s comprehensive spinal cord injury rehab program is home to some of the area’s most experienced clinicians utilizing advanced rehab technology such as exoskeletons and zero-gravity gait training devices for the best patient outcomes. In July 2022, The Wright Center launched its PM&R Residency through a partnership with Allied Services and Northeast Rehab . The ACGME-accredited, four-year residency provides extensive training in evidence-based diagnosis, care, and treatment of patients with disabilities in a variety of clinical settings, from minor injuries to devastating trauma. Fishing Friday’s returned to the Paul Mahon Memorial Accessible Pier at Lake Scranton. Thanks to support from Pennsylvania American Water and state officials, Rep. Kyle Mullins, Senator Marty Flynn, Rep. Bridget Kosierowski, Rep. Kyle Donahue, we returned to the pier built 25 years ago by Paul Mahon who was then Pennsylvania Fish & Game Commissioner. It was rededicated in his memory on the 20th anniversary of the accessible pier. The dates scheduled for the remainder of the Summer are July 12, August 9 and September 13.
