AngelEye Health honors a life well-lived and a true pioneer in neonatal medicine. We remember Mildred T. Stahlman, MD, who is credited with establishing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center the nation’s first Newborn Intensive Care Unit to use monitored respiratory therapy in babies born with damaged lungs. We offer our gratitude for Dr. Stahlman’s amazing career, influence, and advocacy in the field of neonatology.

Craig Garfield talks with Here & Now about a program he leads in a handful of states monitoring new dads' physical and mental health. Dr Garfield, who helped develop the program, is a professor of pediatrics and medical social sciences at Northwestern University, a pediatrician at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and a Clinical Advisor at AngelEye Health. "We know that dads have a big influence on the health and well-being of families in general. And we're also starting to understand that the health of men themselves can be impacted by having a child as well. "So it makes sense if we're worrying about families and we're thinking about parents and how best to make sure the parents are as healthy as they can be and children are as healthy as they can be, that we also include all the people that are taking care of the children, mothers, fathers — grandparents, even — I think are really important people to be considering when we think about the well-being of children." We hope you'll take a moment to listen to this amazing interview. We're wishing all the fathers out there a Happy Father’s Day.

We are thrilled to welcome Carolyn TenEyck, RN to the family as Senior Director of Advocacy for Patients and Families. Rich in Advocacy experience and perspective, she brings us her invaluable expertise, long-standing relationships, and deep integration with the NICU community. Carolyn has served as an Advocacy executive for over 18 years, following six years as an ICU bedside nurse. Her first industry service to patients and families at Johnson & Johnson focused on the HIV, cancer, and chronic renal disease communities. But Carolyn’s deepest fulfillment began in 2008 when she founded and established the Advocacy function at MedImmune for premature infants suffering from RSV. She then built the Advocacy function at Prolacta Bioscience, elevating the value of an exclusive human milk diet for the most fragile preterm infants. Carolyn joins the AngelEye team now after she dedicated two and a half years leading the advocacy efforts to fight the COVID pandemic and its ongoing threats to global public health.
