We are opening up the aperture and chatting with the incredible filmmaker Tara Miele to delve into what she thinks make an exceptional #producer. Tara's widely acclaimed film, WANDER DARKLY, starring Sienna Miller and Diego Luna, premiered in competition at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and was distributed by Lionsgate. Currently, Tara is writing and is attached to direct a Carol Burnett biopic that Tina Fey is producing. Most recently, Tara directed two episodes of LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY, one of my fav shows of last year, for which she was nominated for a DGA award! She is also well known for her 2016 viral video, MEET A MUSLIM, which she created to combat Islamophobia and has garnered 45 million views. Tune in!

Thrilled to share my electric convo with a TV director and college professor, Rachel Raimist, Ph.D.. Some of her directing credits include: THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES (Disney+), UP HERE (Hulu) and SEX/LIFE (Netflix). https://lnkd.in/dNX9dmmW We are opening up the aperture and hearing from other disciplines on what they think makes an exceptional producer, so tune in! Her journey is a masterclass in rolling with the punches…and her resilience is inspiring to say the least. She’s one of those people you can talk to for hours and never run out of things to say. Enjoy xx

Honored to have a seat at this table and to engage in a topic near and dear to my heart alongside Melinda French Gates, Tilane Jones and Amy Aniobi.
In honor of Women's History Month, I recently sat down with three incredible leaders in media and entertainment—Tilane Jones, Amy Aniobi, and Carolina Groppa—to talk about their efforts to tell more diverse stories, use their art to drive change, and help more women rise to positions of power within the industry. I hope you enjoy their perspectives as much I did. Watch the full conversation: https://m-gat.es/48PveAg

As most of you know, AOP is a pure labor of love that I've created mostly solo for almost 5 years. At moments when I've been discouraged or frustrated, an angel listener would pop into my inbox offering to help. These acts of kindness kept me and the show going. Thank you. We have big dreams but they often require more time, more people, or more risk - in other words, more money. A dollar can mean different things to different people but it all helps. Please contribute what you can to help the show grow and evolve! https://lnkd.in/g6_YCh2T There's some sweet perks, including monthly virtual workshops with me and surprise guests. 🤓 Thanks for listening, for being a part of my journey, and for doing this life thing with me! -Carolina

New episode alert with the incredible Coco Francini, who is a producer and partner at DIRTY FILMS. We dive into her beginnings with Quentin Tarantino, producing MRS. AMERICA for FX and the creation of the Proof of Accelerator grant alongside Netflix and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative. It's designed to accelerate the path for directors who give voice to the perspectives of women, trans and non-binary people. Eight filmmakers will receive $50,000 in funding to create short films that can act as springboards to feature films or TV series. Tune in! https://lnkd.in/d_p7ZXPg

In case you missed it, last week I sat down with Benjamin Odell, CEO of 3Pas Studios. He launched the company alongside the incomparable Eugenio Derbez. During our chat, we unpack his time living and working in Colombia, producing RADICAL; the beautiful 2023 Sundance Festival Favorite Award, and why the Latinx market can’t be put into a box. Tune in now! https://lnkd.in/gnKs7WyR
