As July approaches, my second summer at Aprio with the Transaction Advisory Services group is nearly halfway over. This summer I have been working and learning alongside TAS intern, Rebecca Weiss, along with my Aprio buddy, Aaron Rosenberg, and my coach, Kenny Janis. Throughout these first few weeks, it has been interesting to reflect on my previous summer to see how much I've learned and become more comfortable in the deal process. I feel like I have been able to pick my head up out of the innerworkings of excel and focus on the main idea of building a data book based on clients’ financial information and presenting them with a final Quality of Earnings EBITDA, adjusted number. At the start of the summer, I joined a deal where I have gotten to see the progress from the initial management meeting to the final presentation of the data book and report, and all the work and communication in between. I have been able to actively participate in this deal as I have helped find and apply adjustments to EBITDA in Excel, build the final report in PowerPoint, analyze financial statements, present questions to the client, and many other essential tasks. Besides working in the office, there have been plenty of events to facilitate friendships between interns and current employees. Through it all, Aprio continues to prove how prominent their 31 fundamentals are in and out of the office. There truly is something special about this company and I can’t wait to see what the remainder of the summer brings!
