Arevon Energy, Inc. recently broke ground on its 228 megawatt Posey Solar Project in Posey County, Indiana. The project, which is expected to come online in Q1 2025, will generate enough clean electricity to annually power the equivalent of more than 25,000 homes. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives from Arevon, CenterPoint Energy, and Bechtel Corporation, as well as various regional and local Indiana officials. Kevin Smith, Arevon’s CEO, shared an overview of the project’s development and its future, noting that the $300 million investment and the 200 construction workers the project employs will increase the region’s GDP by $32 million. Arevon would like to thank all the regional and local officials, landowners, and our commercial partners who made the Posey Solar Project possible. We are excited to provide renewable energy to Indiana communities and look forward to advancing the construction on Posey, as well as the development of other projects within the state. Katherine Gensler, Vice President of Government Affairs and Marketing at Arevon Ryan Hadley, Executive Director of the Indiana Office of Energy Development Richard Leger, Senior Vice President of Indiana Electric at CenterPoint Energy Connie Neininger, National Policy Advisor at the Center for Infrastructure and Economic Development

We are proud to share that the July 11 Follow the Sun Tour, in conjunction with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, featured Arevon Energy, Inc.’s Solar Farm 2.0. Our solar farm has a pollinator vegetation habitat, and the university utilizes the habitat to conduct research and study agrivoltaics. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the research being conducted by the university’s Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment (iSEE) teams on agrivoltaics systems. Special thanks to Juliana Isaac from Sol Systems for organizing the event and the AgriSolar Clearinghouse for hosting the tour!

Arevon Energy, Inc.’s Vice President of Transmission and Interconnection, Brindavani M., recently participated in the Alternative Technologies for Grid Planning and Operations panel discussion at the GridTECH Connect Forum in California. The panel focused on various grid-enhancing technologies including power flow controllers and topology optimization to help meet the increasing demands of electrification. Brinda shared her insights as to how various obstacles are hindering Generator Interconnection projects, including delays in the construction of transmission upgrades which involves siting, permitting, and large investments. She explained that if Transmission Operators adopt and implement grid-enhancing technologies, it can help improve grid reliability, lower the costs for customers and rate payers, and free up the queue of Generator Interconnection projects. We appreciate the opportunity to participate in this informative conference. John Engel

At Arevon Energy, Inc., our mission is to build safe, reliable clean energy projects, and serve as good partners to the communities where our renewables projects are located. Our active engagement in the City of Carson, the host of our 200 megawatt/800 megawatt-hour Avocet Energy Storage Project, underscores our passion for supporting education initiatives. For instance, we established a STEM Scholarship program for Carson High School seniors who plan to pursue a STEM major in college, and Arevon’s Director of Community Relations Trish Evans presented two STEM scholarships to Carson seniors last week. Dr. Diana Faatai, the Principal of Carson High School, expressed gratitude for Arevon’s generosity: “We pride ourselves on preparing all of our students to succeed after graduation. Arevon’s STEM Scholarship will only further help our students reach their full academic and personal potential. We want to thank Arevon for their critical investment in Carson students.” Following that, Trish and Arevon’s Senior Project Manager of Development Arun Muthukrishnan gave an informative presentation on Avocet to the Carson Chamber of Commerce. The presentation was very well received, and the Chamber will be writing a letter of support for the Avocet project. Thank you to the City of Carson and to our dedicated Community Relations and project teams for working together to build a sustainable future!

Arevon Energy, Inc. is fully focused on serving the communities that host our clean energy projects. In fact, we consider community relations critical to our nation’s successful transition to clean energy. One example of this is our support of the senior residents in Gibson County, Indiana, where our 200 megawatt Gibson Solar Project is located. As part of our community commitment, we contributed to the purchase of a new vehicle for the Gibson County Council on Aging (GCCOA) to benefit the Senior Center. We are proud to have contributed to the Center to ensure their residents have reliable, safe transportation for day trips and other outings.
