Originally created as the Army Acquisition Corps on October 13, 1989, ASA(ALT)'s mission is to provide our Soldiers a decisive advantage in any mission by maintaining quality acquisition professionals in developing, acquiring, fielding, and sustaining the world's best equipment and services. Yesterday, PEO C3T’s new deputy, Kevin Chaney, was promoted to Brigadier General during a ceremony held at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The promotion celebrated his past service to the aviation and acquisition communities and the new role he will assume in his continued commitment to the Army. “Kevin Chaney will execute whatever mission we have for him, whenever we have it, and do so to the greatest of his ability,” said MG Robert Barrie, who hosted the promotion ceremony. “In Kevin, I know we’ve made the right choice.” Chaney began his military career in 1995. In 2016, he was hand selected by the Acting Secretary of the Army to be his Acquisition Military Assistant. Chaney would eventually become project manager (PM) for Aircraft Survivability Equipment and then PM for Future Attack and Reconnaissance Aircraft. In June 2024, he began his service as deputy of PEO C3T. “When I started to think about what to say here, a couple of words definitely came to mind: Honored, humbled and thankful,” said Chaney. “Being an acquisition officer, we deliver capability.
