Beyond recycling electric vehicle batteries, we recover the residual energy in end-of-life battery packs and return it to the electrical grid. Our innovative #battery discharge process at our Base 1 #EV battery recycling facility in Georgia can recover enough energy to power 105 U.S. households per year. #conservation #energyefficiency #sustainability https://lnkd.in/gpqQ-gTB

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey welcomed Ascend Elements and 27 other climate tech companies to the State House this week. All of the companies had been recently named to the TIME Magazine “America’s Top Green Tech Companies” list for 2024. Brenda Heller, Manager of Employee Communications, represented Ascend Elements’ 400+ employees at the event and met with the Governor as well as Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll. Governor Healey previously visited Ascend Elements in Westborough, Mass. to learn about our innovative Hydro-to-Cathode® direct precursor synthesis process. “I’ve had the opportunity to visit many of these climate tech companies over the past few months, and I have been so impressed by the cutting-edge work that they’re doing in communities across the state," the Governor said. Thanks to the Healey administration for recognizing and prioritizing climate tech in Massachusetts! Read more from the Governor's office. 👇 https://lnkd.in/eBRXcbyq Photo credit: Joshua Qualls

What if you could transform old #EV #batteries into new #cathode material without metals extraction? For a start, you'd save a lot of time, energy and GHG emissions! 🔋 ♻ Ascend Elements CEO Mike O'Kronley discusses the traditional #hydrometallurgical battery #recycling process, which requires individual #metals extraction, and compares it to our patented Hydro-to-Cathode® direct precursor synthesis process. Instead of extracting individual metals from black mass only to be recombined later, Ascend Elements' leaves the critical battery metals together in solution and extracts only the impurities. It's an ultra-efficient process that creates new, #sustainable cathode material with lower GHG emissions. This video is the keynote address from last week's Battery & Critical Metals Recycling Conference in Atlanta. Special thanks to DeAnne Toto, Editorial Director of Recycling Today, for hosting the conversation and covering such a wide range of EV battery recycling topics.
