Northwest Trail - Segment 5 is officially under construction! Thank you to everyone who braved the heat this morning to join us in celebrating the start of work on this 0.7-mile section of trail. The groundbreaking of this segment is especially exciting as it will provide Atlantans with regional trail connection to both the Chattahoochee River and the Silver Comet Trail, which goes all the way to Alabama. It wouldn't have been possible without the support of our incredible partners including City of Atlanta, Fulton County Government, Atlanta Public Schools, Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation, City of Atlanta Department of Transportation, City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management, City of Atlanta Department of City Planning, Georgia Department of Transportation, Invest Atlanta, PATH Foundation, Trees Atlanta, Kaizen Collaborative Design Inc., Astra Group, LLC., Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, the Robert Woodruff Foundation, the James M. We're proud of the economic impact the BeltLine has had in Atlanta. It's helped attract private development, jobs, and so much more. But many of those jobs and investment centers are not easily accessible to those who live outside of the Eastside corridor. That's why John is passionate about bringing transit to the BeltLine. He believes that increased access will allow more Atlantans to take higher-paying jobs, which will in turn lead to healthier, wealthier communities. #AtlantaBeltLine #PublicTransit
