"Join us in celebrating this significant stride towards healthier maternal and infant outcomes in Kansas. We must continue to feed not just our bodies, but futures."
🌈 Transforming Maternal Nutrition in Kansas 🌈 MHPA is proud to highlight an innovative step forward in bolstering nutritional security for pregnant individuals. 🌟 Through a visionary collaboration in Kansas between UnitedHealthcare Community & State and Attane Health, the "Food as Medicine" pilot program has emerged as a beacon of hope and health. 🍽️🤰 🔎 Key Elements of the Program: ✨ Proactive Support: Spanning from the crucial last trimester to up to two months post-partum, this initiative offers comprehensive support through grocery delivery and nutritional coaching, available in both English and Spanish. ✨ Varied Nutritional Choices: Understanding the diverse needs of the community, over 900 food options through the Attane Health platform are at the disposal of program participants, ensuring adherence to dietary restrictions like gluten-free, non-GMO, halal, and kosher— all underpinning the ethos of cultural respect and health-focused empowerment. ✨ Targeted Outcomes: Beyond immediate nutritional support, the program's focus is to foster longer-term health benefits for both mothers and infants in Kansas, addressing critical issues highlighted by recent statistics on pre-term births and maternal wellness. Within the Medicaid sphere, it's crucial to recognize and confront the challenges faced. In 2022, Kansas witnessed concerning trends in prenatal care, pre-term birth rates, and maternal mortality. "Food as Medicine" is more than a program; it's a commitment from Medicaid and its partners to ensure pregnant individuals have the resources needed for a healthier start for their families. 🌟 🙌 Join us in celebrating this significant stride towards healthier maternal and infant outcomes in Kansas. We must continue to feed not just our bodies, but futures. 🌱👶 For comprehensive insights into this empowering initiative, click here: https://ow.ly/ILBc50RNIkN Remember, improving nutritional access and education for pregnant individuals is key to nurturing healthier generations in Kansas and beyond. 💖 #MHPA #Medicaid #FoodAsMedicine #MaternalHealth #Kansas #PublicHealthInnovation #MaternalHealthMonth

At Attane Health, we’re dedicated to reimagining rural healthcare by addressing the critical intersection of food as medicine and food insecurity. In rural areas, limited access to healthy and affordable food creates food deserts, where fresh and affordable foods are scarce. Our CEO and Co-Founder was awarded the 2024 Distinguished Layperson Award by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology - AAAAI
I am thrilled to announce that I have been awarded the 2024 Distinguished Layperson Award by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology - AAAAI! Despite not being able to celebrate with colleagues, friends, and partners in DC this year, I am truly humbled. This award represents years of work dedicated to driving health equity in the food allergy community. Receiving this award has also allowed me to recognize the power of patients and caregivers. We can be drivers of innovation and equity when given an opportunity to participate as equal partners in the health care delivery system. Carrying this notion forward, I continue this work daily at Attane Health where we deliver meaningful food and nutrition care to those who need it the most! I am grateful for all the support along the way. Thank you!
