    Okay, Milwaukee Bucks Inc., we see you 👀 Justin Price wanted a new way to connect with Bucks fans, so he took a chance on building out their SMS channel. And it was a layup for fan engagement 🏀 By setting up a new welcome journey that took fans' interests in mind to segment them into more relevant messaging flows around merchandise, general updates, or ticket info, they went from "can I get a text back?" to a 324x all-time program ROI and a 455% YoY surge in subscriber growth.     Started from the bottom now we’re here 😤 I’ve worked on many projects during my career. Building an SMS marketing program from scratch for an NBA team with the help of our direct department and other colleagues falls pretty high on my list of proudest work achievements. Rewind to March 2023, there was no SMS program. No strategy. No subscribers. For us, SMS marketing was the Wild Wild West, with so many unknowns ahead. Fast forward to today, we’ve accomplished so much over the past 15 months. From running an SMS-exclusive holiday sweepstakes with Fubo to building out new campaigns (insert the SMS-exclusive Ticket Shock Drop), there are many great moments and learning lessons at play. No one asked us to find a new way to communicate with fans digitally. Sometimes you have to put your foot on the gas and just go. Don’t wait for someone to give you permission. Experiment, analyze, experiment again and re-analyze. The worst action is inaction. Side note: I quickly learned that SMS is a costly marketing channel, so tread lightly, but I think you get my point about marrying tenacity and experimentation.
