I've been so fortunate to spend the past 38 years working with some wonderful mentors, colleagues, and friends doing what I love - building, selling, and supporting project management software solutions for customers who care about doing projects right. That's 20 years longer than my longest marriage! (18 years and counting). Barbecana has had a great year and I'm looking forward to the next 10! Come and say Hi at the NDIA Spring IPMD conference in Tucson in March. Cheers!

Simulation Result Convergence: Most Schedule Risk Analysis tools present some kind of convergence information, typically for either Mean Finish or Finish Standard Deviation. Convergence (where the results start to vary less and less as more simulations are performed) is used to demonstrate that sufficient simulations have been performed for the results to be significant. However, Mean and Standard Deviation actually converge quite quickly (10's or 100's) of simulations, while the Finish Date at higher levels of confidence, toward the end of the S-Curve, remains quite volatile much longer meaning that far more simulations must be performed compared to the values suggested by Mean/Standard Deviation convergence to obtain realistic results. The latest update to Full Monte 3.6 (August 2023) includes an option to display convergence for both Standard Deivation and the 80th Percentile Finish of the selected sensitivity target. This helps ensure sufficient simulations have been performed for realistic results at higher levels of confidence. More simulations are always better!

Product Updates: For the first 10 years of releasing software, we stuck to a roughly 18 month release cycle because some customers told us they simply couldn't deploy frequent updates. However, since the release of Full Monte 3.6 in 2022 we've been releasing new features roughly every 6 weeks as incremental updates. Details are on our support page (https://lnkd.in/gfG2NDjY) on the Version Information tab. This allows us to be more responsive to requests from customers (existing and future) and more innovative with less risk. You might even call it more agile although internally we've always employed agile development methodologies. The vast majority of our updates are customer driven so please continue to let us know if we can make our products more productive for you.
