Supporting Melissa and Her Family It's that time again for Bass Gives Back. In December 2023, Melissa welcomed a beautiful baby boy and was enjoying being a mother of two. Tragically, a few months later, she was urgently hospitalized with a severe infection. In April 2024, Melissa received devastating news: she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She immediately began chemotherapy to prepare for surgery. Since then, balancing being a mom to a 7-year-old and a 7-month-old, working, and undergoing chemo has been incredibly challenging for Melissa and her husband. We are praying for Melissa and the Dickinson family. The Bass Gives Back donation will help them offset the financial burden of medical bills and living expenses.

🌟 A Message from Our Chief Underwriting Officer 🌟 About 25 years ago, I approached my friend from FSU about buying a bucket shop agency he had in a rough part of Fort Lauderdale. He thought I’d do better to join him and his buddy Joe in a new venture where my background would serve me well—an MGA called Bass. I was a bit skeptical, and the entrepreneur in me just wanted to do my own thing, but we worked out an arrangement, and I dove in. He sure was right. I love insurance agents; they are just like me, mostly, and I love working out deals with companies and risk-takers to support the profit we deliver. It has been a long road with many challenges, and many times we have been pushed to just give in and cash in our chips. However, the love of the business and the challenges to continue evolving and adjusting are just way too satisfying. What I love the most at this point is our commitment to creating careers for all the people we hire. We have so many smart, ambitious people with amazing opportunities at their fingertips. Seeing them succeed and grow professionally is definitely the most satisfying part of this entire career for me. We never went outside our organization to grow to a billion dollars; we always stayed committed to our people, and they never disappointed. I truly love everyone in this organization, and there is no one in any business more grateful than I am.
