🌟We Celebrated technology leadership at the BayAreaCIO ORBIE Leadership Reception Tuesday night. There is nothing I LOVE more than celebrating and connecting with the Chief Technology Leaders in the Bay (see the first picture for the fun group of nominees). Thank you all for coming out to support these wonderful nominees of the 2024 season! I am in constant awe of the connections forged, relationships built, strategies shared, and information gained during these events. John Wrenn, thank you and your brilliant team for your hard work and efforts in making this event one the best BayAreaCIO has ever seen. The cherry on top was the technology showcased with the Flex Pulse = remarkable. The information the Panel shared was transformative sharing details about connecting and growing throughout their careers, leading them to their recognition and celebration at the #ORBIES as past winners, and attributing to the significance of the accomplishments of all the nominees in the room. Some of my favorite highlights were hearing about Michael Pfeffer's journey as a still practicing doctor and CIO at Stanford Medicine able to see first-hand the difference technology is making in patients' lives, Sriram Thiagarajan's theory of the ORBIE Awards application doubling as an end of year review of his team's accomplishments, Carter Busse's focus on working and leading efforts through his team, and Sharon Mandell's heart in everything she does with a customer-centric focus. Jyothi Gorti's speech on building your network and Christopher Desautel's encouragement to build your own Board of Advisors, and their testimonies of being a part of BayAreaCIO as a great way to do this, were inspiring. Thank you all for sharing your wisdom with us and continuing to Inspire us all. To all those who did not make it, you were missed and we hope to see you and connect soon. ⭐ Thank you Ahsan Baig and Tas Jalali for welcoming BayAreaCIO and BayAreaCISO to a behind the scenes look of AC Transit!   It is remarkable to hear about the technological advancements of AC Transit and everything the team has done to create national recognition as the 2023 Outstanding Public Transportation System recipients. We need photos of that rodeo also! 🚌   I am so thankful for the partnership and mentorship I have with Lourdes Gipson, MBA★. We were able to extend that into a successful event with BayAreaCIO and BayAreaCISO Chapters. Members were able to engage in insightful conversations about technology and the future of the transportation system.    With so much fun and value to be had, we made sure to capture it in many “1-2-3” photos of the tour, rooftop garden, and the Salesforce Transit Center.
