Learn a little bit more about Maddie, her story, and her experience with Beacon Pointe through the Q&A below! 🙌🏼 ⭐️Who is your inspiration every time you get in the pool? This Olympic cycle, my husband has been an inspiration and motivation. He is battling lung cancer, and this journey over the last year has been full of opportunity and adversity. I am so thankful for his constant support. ⭐️As a 2x Olympian, how do you handle performance pressure? Pressure is a privilege. I try to use that pressure as motivation and to fuel my passion to keep trying to be better. ⭐️What advice would you give aspiring athletes? Failure allows you to learn and strive to be better. The moments of failure may seem like a lost opportunity, when in fact, they can become your greatest strength down the road. I’m so thankful for all my failures; without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. ⭐️How does financial planning play a role in your life as a professional athlete? Financial planning is extremely important for a professional athlete. Having guidance in that area of your life allows you to focus on your sport and be able to balance where and when to spend your money. ⭐️What one key takeaway from your Beacon Pointe financial planning meeting has stuck with you? I am thankful Beacon Pointe has given me peace of mind on how I can plan for my future with my family. They have broken down different aspects of finance to be aware of and have made everything super simple about what our long-term plan looks like. ⭐️What do you love most about working with Beacon Pointe? I love the support Beacon Pointe has given me in sport and my financial life. Each person I have encountered has shown interest in my Olympic journey and offered their time to help guide my husband and me in our financial planning. Another hole-in-one success for our Palm Desert team! We recently co-hosted an unforgettable golf tournament in the Coachella Valley, in support of the Pendleton Foundation ’s mission. Dedicated to easing the financial burdens of those battling cancer, the Pendleton Foundation ensures patients can focus on healing without added stress, with over $3 million donated directly to patients over the last two decades. The tournament swung into action, raising over $15,000 in just one afternoon!
