Please spread the word! Americorps VIP is #hiring fellows for a year of service with our amazing non-profit partners in #Monterey & #SantaCruz counties. VIP stands for Volunteer Infrastructure Project and our fellows help build and support sustainable and effective #volunteer programs for partner organizations. This year's partners include Grey Bears (Santa Cruz) and Loaves Fishes and Computers (Salinas). Grey Bears has been a fixture of Santa Cruz County for over 50 years, providing food and meal deliveries to seniors and community members. With an average of 300 monthly volunteers, Grey Bears uses proceeds from recycling and its on-site thrift store to supplement gleaned food from local farms, markets, and food banks to fulfill its mission of improving the health and well-being of our community. LFC (Loaves, Fishes & Computers, Inc.) enables individuals to reach their full potential by providing low-cost computers and computer literacy classes to local low-income families, while providing volunteers the opportunity to learn and explore technology through their service to the community. Americorps VIPs serve from August or September through June or July and receive a $2200/month living stiped, a $10,000 education award upon completion of service, and benefits including health insurance. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with all positions needing to be filled by mid-August.   Apply here: https://lnkd.in/gia7mQsq
