License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology is used broadly across industries, from loss mitigation for lenders to recognizing the vehicles of wash members in the car wash space. In 2009, DRN Data entered the loss mitigation space working with lenders, banks, credit unions, and insurance agencies to find cars that needed to be repossessed. Soon they realized that LPR could be used for lead generation in the car wash space as well. International Carwash Association released its Q2 2024 edition of The Pulse Report, a quarterly report that provides the latest in car wash consumer research and industry data, combined with actionable insights for car wash operators and retailers. “The research shows some uncertainties about where the industry and economy are headed six months from now, but current conditions are positive,” said ICA Research Director Bob Klein, who will be hosting a webinar related to the Q2 Pulse survey data on June 20. “The positive upward movement in reported same store sales are encouraging, too. 64% report same store sales increasing over the past 12 months.” Learn more about the latest release of The Pulse Report here: https://lnkd.in/dqwAMemr

ICA's U.S. consumer research shows that 80% of the population prefers to get their cars washed professionally. A percentage that's exponentially grown since the study began in the 1990s. Similarly, the Australian car wash market has seen a recent 13% shift in consumer preference towards a professional car wash over previous alternative methods. With Car Wash Show Australia coming this August, Doug Cross, business manager of Australian Car Wash Association (ACWA), joins Eric Wulf & Kendra Johnson to connect the rising interest in professional carwashes in Australia with the evolving car wash industry opportunities for suppliers and partners who want to grow their businesses in a new market.
