Steve is also a pioneer in performance driven industry software. Steve was co-founder of Streamline Vacation Rental Software, which has allowed him to create many industry-first technologies that continue to change the market. He is a former Army Ranger, pilot, intelligence analyst, software developer and author. His creative work has been featured in numerous publications and television appearances.

4 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW about Airbnb’s Updated Cancellation Policy: Starting June 6, 2024, Airbnb will implement a new cancellation policy for cancellations due to natural disasters, government travel restrictions, and certain weather events. Here are the key points that we, as homeowners and property managers, need to be aware of: 1: Foreseeable Events: The policy now covers cancellations due to foreseeable weather events that lead to a mandatory evacuation or a significant utility outage. 2. Mid-Trip Cancellations: Guests affected by covered events can now cancel mid-trip and receive a refund for the unused nights, without any penalties. 3. Change in Property Condition: Airbnb will require that if a property becomes uninhabitable or doesn’t meet the expectations set at booking, we cancel the reservation without imposing additional fees on the guest. 4. Travel Insurance: Airbnb recommends guests to consider travel insurance, as their policy does not cover all emergencies. This policy change is a proactive step towards providing a fair and transparent experience for both guests and homeowners.
